The Taiko Risshiden series by KOEI has not quite been popular in countries outside of Asia, but it's influence can be felt on games like RoTK X. In fact, the "RPG" mechanics from that game is pretty much ripped out and simplified from the Taiko Risshiden series so if you loved RoTK X and can't stand the "Ruler-only" RoTKs, you'll probably love this game.

Taiko Risshiden is an SLG game where you play as a character in ancient Japan. You start out with 5 characters of different professions, including Hideyoshi Toyotomi  and you can unlock more throughout the game. Your goal is to become the best in whatever professions you so choose, through a combination of strategy and playing mini-games, so have fun! The reviews provided can probably offer more insight onto the game than me.

Notes: This is the Taiwanese Chinese version of the game, so sorry Japanese speakers. Of course if you can't understand either Japanese or Chinese like me then it doesn't make a difference I suppose... If you don't set your computer settings to Chinese there may be some issues, but I have played the game using a Japanese regional settings

Please run the executable file from the main installation folder rather than use the autorun program, or the game won't work.
