Angry Tired of hit and run artists and leechers .

I tried to get attention in IRC but that isn't working I am just being ignored apperently.

I am getting feed up with all the leechers who don't share what they have with fellow peers. This is not an isolated occurance. I hate to see Datorrents go to hell. I chip in every month and send a few bucks and I hardly even use Datorrents when I do I am seeing just to much hit and run on torrents I am seeding or in as a peer.
I don't know what we can do but this is getting old really fast.

I am about to just say screw it and quit donating and seeding beyond my one to one.

FlameBait is disgusted

I'm the same, I make a point to keep my ratio around the 1:1 (more if I can manage, I share my internet with my family, so I can't always leave torrents running) area, Hit and run peeps should be strung up in the town square.

The only way to completely stop the hit and run thing is to make the site registered users only, and to keep an eye on each and every one of those.

I personally agree with doing that, but for traffic reasons, the admin want to keep it the way it is.

There is a crack squad of LPO banning daily and culling a lot of the worst leechers, but many people have a dynamic ip and can return very easily when they want their next piece of hentai.

Furi, I'm sure you weren't being ignored in irc, people aren't always by their pc 24-7 and it has been very quiet recently. Try voicing your opinion in #thestaff as there is always someone pottering about in there, or at least someone who can pass on your concerns.

H.

I eventually got 2 good responses one by email and also a response in IRC.

As usual I was being too bitchy. It's summer so the leeching is it's prolly at it's worst right now while school is out.

Leech Patrol is a huge task and I personally would not know how to deal with it. They do catch lots of them and get them to come around. It's a pretty thankless task and they do hammer them if required.

As a regular user like me I have no way of knowing that person that has 99% of the torrent downloaded with a ratio of .091 and almost nothing shared back doesn't have an excelent over all ratio. All you can see is the snap shot you are given. Many times I am the only registered user I see on the list. Forcing registration just woldn't work. Forcing "Private" flags on local torrents would help with the DHT and peer provided connetions and catch out those super leechers exploiting it.

Furi, people dont response in irc because some users learn their harsh and hard lesson from fansub irc channels.
you should know Fansub people have life too, when thing become boring and anguish to them, they may go on and picking people in irc to make fun with. Of course, if you are idle in the channel, they cannot really fool you around for no reason. otherwise, no one will come to their channel anymore. So they need an excuse to kick people. so they may wait until you insert a msg to the channel. then thats their excuse for them to kick you out.

So if you find no one whatsoever response you at all, it is normal. because simply users didnt like to see themselves end up getting kick. But thats the past experiences. DAT channel, shouldnt been doing that. So if you got some major questions that need answer right away. instead go through irc. Private msg a DA mod or admin. then you can get your answer within a day or two

Furi,
apoligies if no one answered right away, i was checking your query out and was able to come up with an alternate plan as previously discussed.
You can always stop at #thestaff for even faster responce, since we (admins and mods) are always there for inquiries. We also hang out at #datorrents-chat but sometimes we get busy at #thestaff and fail to catch all that is going on at the chat channel.
i have already completed the torrent so u can go and grab

Everyone can do something.

Everyone can do something and the simplest to do is seed, seed, seed.

The Admins, LPO, and forum moderators do very impotant work that often goes un noticed and un appreciated but what they do doesn't just magicly happen on it's own.

I am lucky that my wife thinks supporting a few sub groups and trackers with a little of her hard earned money is a good thing. She enjoys the Anime I down load with Bittorrent and select for her to view.

Furi-Yuri,
You can apply for LPO job which is currently available ( http://datorrents.com/forums/showthr...9129#post29129 ).
With our currently strengh, we cant suprivise all of the torrents.
If you can apply for it, that will be great contribution to DA.

Anyway, thank for donating

Please also dont forget that there are people who are hacking their client. Or have a 100Mbit connection and other reasons to hit and run that we cannot handle. Apparently, there are also leechers who seed for about like 10-15 mins, which let them donate for just about 5-10MB. Take note that we cannot ban seeders right away cause they'll come to us saying why the ban since they are seeding? Most of those people are like seeding because they forgot to remove the torrent right after leeching it to 100%. Then some of them who has a very fast connection can upload a little and download much in a few span of time.

But thanks for your consideration and understanding that everyone is working real hard just to maintain this community.
