| Beginner | Uploading and downloading question When the site tracks how much you upload or download. Do you need a specific type of program that allows the stats to be read? For example, I use BitTornado... will this program allow my stats to be accumulated on datorrnets? |

| RevanFlame's pet | Short answer, yes. It is the tracker that does the hard work recording your stats, and sometimes can read different to what your program says. This can be caused by: Not shutting down the program properly External tracker DHT that doesn't go through our tracker. Hope this answers your question! H.

And BitTornado is the only torrent thingy I use, so I shouldn't have a problem with the tracking right? And what does DHT mean?

But, I have one more question. I notice that it only counts the local torrents and not the external ones. Is there a way to fix that or is that just the way it is?

| Cynical Bastard | Trackers track what data from a seeder goes to which leecher in the stream. It also tracks your Upload and Download Stats. Generally, any BT program will work, and like acehiven said, the tracker does all the work. It also takes time for your stats to refreash on a the server, because having the stats in real time would be process intensive, and would be a waste of bandwidth and would slow the tracker down. |
