Ul/Dl Ratio

Hi

My internet connection allows me to upload around 30 kb/s while I am able to download as high as 200 kb/s due too high peers, not seeders. I did not set any limit to the upload speed and download speed. But this has caused me to be banned because the uneven ul/dl ratio.

Does there is a way to fix this? I did not wish to lower my dl speed because I have hundreds unfinished torrent especially humoungous size files likes completed animes. And seeders sometimes dissapears. I did not wish to abandoned datorrents as some of the files is uniques. Please help me.

Simple Solution: Have an account on the tracker and seed every torrent to a 1.0 ratio or higher after you finish downloading.

Isn't the ratio is for the whole dl and ul we have done till now. Not only for the current active torrents or that exist in the application window.

Only if you have an account on the tracker. Once you stop your ratio is lost, so when your start again it will be calculated based on data from the current session. That's my understanding of it.

I have an account and I have been banned permanently because of the low ratio. I wish to improve it but as my ul is not even close to dl speed it is going to be very difficult for me to reach 1.00 ratio. This is a reason why I'm wondering a way to improve it without limiting my dl speed.

The only way to improve your ratio is to upload more than you download. I have the same problem you do, my download speed is faster than my upload. The way I keep my ratio up is by letting it seed till it hits at least 1.0 for the torrent after I finished downloading (like cyberbeing suggested). According to your unban request you could make that ~700MB in a few nights of straight uploading. Small price to pay IMO.

Since you're already in the red limiting your download speed (which many clients support) and taking longer to get the file till you get your ratio back up might not be such a bad idea. It certainly beats not being able to use the tracker at all.

Sorry the options for improving a ratio are rather limited.

Almost everybody has a faster download than upload.

You want to improve your ratio without limiting your download speed, spend more time seeding than downloading then.

There is only one sure fire way and that is to register and seed back more than you take. If you download 2.4 gigs seed back 3 gigs before you stop the torrent.

My stats are higher than most. I got that way by seeding almost all the time my computer is running. I am seeding a torrent some place all the time. DAtorrents is just one place I support with money and bandwidth.

This question keeps comming up and eveerytime we say: No one can claim that they can't take the time to see to a 1 to 1 ratio. You had the time to leech the torrent. You better have time to seed it back. Otherwise don't Bittorrent because you will get banned. You will get no Sympathy here about it either. Check the "I have been banned" Thread. If you want to play online games and use other file sharing methods or you have to pay by the byte Bittorent may not be for you.

BTW you will not find a Registered User named Furi-Yuri. I have a different Identiy on the tracker than I do on the Forums and IRC.

Well, technically, it IS impossible for everyone to have a 1 to 1 ratio.

Here's a solution: Pay $150/mo for a dedicated server with 10mbps upload and then you won't have any problems. Or you can even get a virtual dedicated server at ~$30/mo with a ~1TB monthly cap, which should be more than enuf...

For teh hardcore non-leech p2p user!

impossible or not, they are getting these vidoes, games, anime practically for FREE alright. we aren't asking for money, we only ask for your cooperation to help others by seeding.
this is how it IS possible ot get a good ratio. once you finish the torrent leave it open.
this is how it IS possible to get a good ratio. once you finish the torrent dont jump right ahead in being greedy and downloading another one.
this is how it is possible ot get a good ratio. cap your uplaod and download speeds.

there i gave 2 ways to get a good ratio. and if you can't do either or. then that is just:
1. sad
2. greedy
3. selfish

we have been obtaining this tracker for some time and that is thanks to the kind seeders. if you can't share back like they can, and mind you, they are the people who are allowing you to get your anime. then that is your loss. and we have no room for those greedy selfish people on this tracker.

so if your going to tell me that you cna't do it. im going ot call it a whole bunch of bs. cause i know someone who has dial up and they still managed to keep up a 5.36 ratio. and its DIAL-UP. we aren't asking you to get cable or a t-1 connection. go with what you have, but dont be greedy about it.
