DA Disconnects

I'm having issues in irc where either my download rate drops below 10 kb/s or I completely disconnect from the irc server. I usually don't get this with other irc servers. I'm on a Bellsouth/AT&T Fast Access connection using a Westell 6100 Router/Modem. Is there a known issue with my internet service or device or does anyone have these problems too? Thank you.

Pinging out isn't particularly uncommon. As for 10kb/s, does it happen with every download on danet or just certain ones. There are sites like Broadband Reports that will help you diagnose connectivity problems. If you goto Tools on their site and run the tweak test and line quality test.
You might have to register to do the line quality test, but it's free and they don't spam.
