Why do I get a message saying I have not posted? I might not be the most active member but I will post when I have something original and worthwhile.

Most likely an effort to encourage participation for those who have register but not posted anything.

That's fine, but I advise logging in at least every month or two since accounts that remain inactive for 90 days are up for possible deletion.
