school days display problem

Hello. I know that such a problem has been mentioned school days help - here, but no explanation were provided there and that thread is closed now. So, before and after I've patched the game it started (menu) on a full-screen, and everything was ok, but when I start game it is displayed only on small space on top-left corner of the screen, and I barely can see anything. Any ideas? Maybe someone could provide config file under which it works... I don't really know what to do about it.

Did you see the suggestion Ichigo made in that thread. If you follow the link she included there is copy of the config file that worked for her.

I've replaced the config file, but it had no effect at all. Nothing changed about the display in corner.

Another question is about translation. What should I do about it?

Could you post your computer Specs, including video card and is it AGP or PCI Express ? SD is very picky regarding pc's that it likes to run on. Here's one to try though. The intro and such (the actual game op), tends to not display on some systems, let it play a few minutes, and see if the actual game scenes come up. One of my computers here does not display the opening/ending animations, but the rest of the game plays fine. Try that and let me know if the game actually does play after the intro and stuff.

Oh, it actualy does play well after the intro! Thank you for suggestion! But that is not the end of my problems, because if I try to load saved game the display spoils again and I doubt that the game is so short, that it can be completed in one session... Anyway my specs: Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200 64MB; AMD Athlon 1800+; 512MB RAM; Samsung SyncMaster 204B; the dvd (for school days of course) is emulated; and some junky soundcard.

And another one is: I still has problems with speaking Japanease (even on basic level), so is there a way to translate this into English, for example? Some subs, or something like that...

Actually, for the saves, try going to replay instead of load. For some reason the save games are very VERY flaky and somewhat intolerant to actually loading properly. It sounds like your PC should be capable of playing most of it though. Try using replay instead of load, and let me know of any success/failure.

Well, I've tried to replay some games form SchoolDays, but every single one of them started at the begining of the game... Well maybe it should be like this, but the display is spoiled as always, so... But, when I simply loaded one of these (unfortunately I don't remember which one), there was something like opening, and after that the display has been fixed. Due to this maybe I will be able to get through the game... Of course it depends on how much such "openings" are in it. But anyway thank you a lot!

Oh, and I've found this website: reversed factory :: [Eng] How to translate School Days using AGTH to hook DLL in real-time (Overflow). Anybody tried to translate it like this?

It completely slipped my mind, but have you patched it at all ? There are several patches for School Days. I think the save off my site, required like the 1.08 patch ! (I think that theyre up to 2.01 ?) You can poke around a bit, their site is Overflow OFFICIAL WEB SITE

Just looked, the last one you'd want, specially with the modified saves, is v1.11 patch.

Actually I have 1.11 patch installed. I will reinstall it with 1.08 and then let know how it goes with it.

I couldn't find 1.08, but tried 1.07 and everything was similar. On their website, in download section I've also found file called: schooldays_pr02.exe. Is it something important?

At a guess, it will end up being the save game + the patch. I'll do some poking around, but I can recreate the same issue on mine, with the latest patches, and the save game. I'll see if there's a newer save game. Also, keep in mind, there should be a buncha VMReg folders in your Schooldays folder, are you overwriting any of them in particular ? I'll see what i can fix up with the save game and v1.11...
