Dropped Internets

I have recently been trying to get the english version of X-Change 3 through da torrents.

The torrent is new and has a BUTTload of seeds and peers

Yet for some reason im having issues, i know its terrible.

The issue arises where i start the torrent in Utorrent version 1600 and after about 5 minutes it crashes my internet access.

Now the cable modem says its still active, and ive still got an IP adress but any attempts to ping out are met with no avail.

Ive tried removing my router from the picture, going direct to modem, trying a modem from the local store, aswell as swapping my nic card.

None of these things have resolved the issue.


Now the only thing i can think of is that the issue lies in either my ISP or Da Torrents.

I contacted my ISP earlier today and they claimed to not have any restrictions in regards to my connection. Which dosnt surprise me since ive been downloading music via torrent, port 20665, for a very long time with no issues.

Just to make sure it wasnt that port ive tried swapping to 20663 and ive tried downloading another torrent from a music site. Both worked fine UNTIL i tried this X Change 3 torrent here at Da Torrents.



Im basically looking for any other suggestions that you guys might have for your fellow hentai freak. Im dieing to play this game in english and this has just been a bad couple days thanks to the above issue.

Have you tried using another BT client?

Or maybe lower the maximum number of connections to something really small to start with (9 or less). If that version of utorrent lets you set the net.max_halfopen in Advanced options, lower it to 4.

It could be the modem. Certain NEC modems crush after being hit with too many outgoing connection requests. Google your modem name and see if any complaints pops up.

Try limiting your peer connections in Utorrent
go to options/preferences then bitorrent
maximum global connections 80
maximum connections per torrent 30
then save do a restart of utorrent

I ended up limiting my peers to 50 and maximum connections per torrent to 25 which seemed to do the trick.

I do find it kinda odd that this torrent is the ONLY one that has ever not liked my maxed out settings.

I mean i normally download other torrents and they all do as they please with great results.

But ill suffer through with the slow speed just to make sure i get this great game.
