I have a problem with memory.

Right now I'm downloading Tokyo Mew Mew, which is roughly 11 gigs. The problem is the hard drive it's being saved to only has 12 gigs of memory left. My point was to download this anime then burn it onto disks and free up my hard drive space. I know I have to give back to the community, but I can't seed this particular torrent because I need the extra memory.

Bear with me because I'm new and I want to make sure I do things right. I do want to contribute, so what should I do? Is it possible for me to find something else to seed that will leave me more free space on my hard drive?

you could also submit your own torrent as well, Thats how I got my account back up to a 1 to 1 ratio when I first joined up.

Find some random small torrent and seed it. Seeding is not the only way to get a good ratio. Increase the upload cap while you download works too.

I tried to upload my copy of Ah My Goddess OVA, but when it said it was seeding on my computer it wasn't seeding according to the site.

I really wish somebody would explain this stuff to me. What is the process by which I upload a torrent.

Also, when I look at the page I'm downloading from, my ration says inf. What does that mean? Why am I only uploading at 10k/s when I have it set at 10mg/s? Why am I being told it'll take 41 days when last night it said 6 hours?

I'm so confused with all of this!

If you tell us what BitTorrent client you're using we can probably walk you through the uploading process so you can start seeding. Also are you behind a router? If so, do you already have port forwarding configured?

Umm... I don't know what a client is, I don't know what a router is, and I don't know what port forward configuring is.

Sorry, I'm REALLY new at this.

Edit: Okay, I have BitTorrent v 4.20.4 Does that help?

I personally recomend BitTornado-0.3.15 http://www.bittornado.com/download.html

I've tried other clients, but I've never had problems with Bittornado.

I don't understand this. My friend's helping me gain access to my router configuration page, but my admin name and password won't work. We've done everything the support site for my router said and it still won't work. Any ideas?

Well, if you had 12 gigs of hard drive space left before you started downloading, and the download is 11 gigs, that will leave you with 1 gig free space.

This is acceptable to your operating system and most cd and dvd burning software. You should be able to download and seed like normal and burn as well. I do this all the time with my system, download until I have only 1 gig free, seed to above 1 ratio, then burn it all off.

Just don't go below 1 gig of free hard drive space if you are running Windows XP. You can get away with less free space with Win 98 or Win ME [shudder].

Thanks, and fortunately, I have two hard drives. It's kinda funny. One is currently working to download 11 gigs. The other is uploading my own torrent.

Things are looking up for me! You guys are the best, but for some reason I couldn't ever access my router. The password was changed or something... anyway, I'll seed then burn just as you said and will hopefully have more stuff to upload to the site soon.

Thanks all!
