Having some trouble with H-game

Yup, I'm still new to the whole process, but I have reached a new brick wall in my quest to H-immortality...

A while ago I had downloaded "Come See Me Tonight" (my first H-game) and DAEMON to run it. The day I got both, I had gotten them to work, playing the game for a few hours and then turning it off. I then cleared out the virtual drive so that I wouldn't continue to have the little game icon in "My Computer". I figured that I could just put the .ccd back into the drive and start up playing again whenever I wanted.

Today I tried just that, putting the .ccd back on the drive and playing, but it didn't work. I got the opening menu of the game (which looked quite normal) but when I clicked on "Play" the screen went black (all except for the game cursor) and stayed black, then I heard the little error "bleep" noise. I left it on for a few minutes thinking that maybe it was loading, but it didn't help the situation. I did the Cnt-Alt-Del to stop running the program and rebooted. I tried the exact same process again, but it did the same thing. Next, I tried uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it. But when I try to reinstall I get the message "Failed to copy file" and it just stops installing.

Now here's my problem: What the fudge did I do wrong? Do you have to keep the game on the drive at all times? Is it possible for me to just reinstall the file I've got (if so, how?) or will I have to download an all new torrent?

Well, for virtually all games you'll need to keep the entire disc image set on your HDD when you're playing it. Some games need to reference the CD/DVD to play audio/video files, while others require the "disc" in the "drive" as a form of copy protection. The .ccd file is just the pointer to the actual image file (most likely a .img/.sub), it doesn't have any real content in it.

So to answer your question, if you deleted the rest of the files, other than the .ccd, you'll need to redownload everything again to play the game...

If you're short on HDD space, you'd be much better off burning everything onto a DVD-R rather than deleting it

. I've got over 100 DVD-Rs of rar'ed h-games personally...

But I havn't deleted any files. I've just tried uninstalling and then reinstalling, but I'm not getting any results. Should I move all the game files to my HDD? Right now, they're under "My Videos", would that be what's messing it up?

It shouldn't matter where the image files are, as long as they're in one folder. Try reloading the torrent make make it hash check the files.

Okay, I've tried deleting all the game files multiple times. I have re-extracted all the files from the .ace folder like I did when I first got the game. I have re-installed the game (about 3 times now). But everytime I install the game and then click play, the screen goes black (but the cursor changes) and I get that stupid little "bleep" noise. Then... nothing happens. It's like my computer keeps locking up and is refusing the game. Does anyone know what's going on? Is it not installing completely or something? I don't think this is all happening because I took it off the drive (since I completely re-installed) so what's the beef?

patch is like crack -->> no cd required
