Last I checked this was a thread to see if everyone was having a problem with the site as a whole. Not just not seeing the pics, or the torrents. But, by now, it is safe to say that everyone is having problems.

well seeing as the gallery has its own thread about about dealing with that and the fact i made this thread because the homepage was out and there were no torrents lol though one thingim really concerned that theres been no updates about the problems, we are basically shooting blind in hoping it could be up tomorrow and definate constant reassurance is needed

There has been an update on the "I can't see the pics...blah, blah, blah" thread.

Effectively there is too much content (which is causing the image servers to crash almost daily) and a while back someone ripped out the server hard drives which is the root of our other troubles. Right now they are working on a permanent fix (instead of just restarting the servers for another TEMPORARY run).

Right now, I'm sure the Admins are sweating blood trying to get the site completely fixed instead of just treating these things symptomatically. We need to give them the time they need, and they'll give us an update when everything is fixed.

This is all I see when I try to get to the main site. All I can access are the forums... Anyone have any updates on if they are fixing this problem? The only sticky I saw was something about bans which doesn't seem to be related to this issue.

Right now, The best that we can do is give them all the time they need to fix things and to use these threads to keep them informed about any NEW errors that appear.

Unless you have some kind of computer degree, then I would recommend trying to get in touch with one of the admins and seeing what you can do, but for us Average Joes, the best thing to do is wait patiently

Well, as I mentioned elsewhere, if it's simply a case of needing to restart a daemon/service when it goes down, I could probably script something to take care of that. But I'm guessing it's something a lot more complex.

Still, I'm sure there would be other people able and willing to help fix the problem for good, whatever that would entail.

It would depend on the problem... Database corruption? Filesystem errors? General OS borkage?

Lets all just hope for the best then. We obviously can't do anything other than support them thru text and donation, and the said crashes are consistent; best solution is to just-wait. Hopefully people aren't losing jobs as well~
