| I personally am very fond of datorrents, and am very dissapointed to see all of thier issues. this post is a direct inquiry to the administrators of the system. it is very clear to me that the server is having difficulties handling the massive amounts of data that are being pressed against it. have you considered searching for duplicate images, and deleting them, or cleaning out the older images so that new ones can take thier place, or even better, running a second server for half the gallery to reduce the strain on the main server being used right now or changing the way the gateways run so that people can view immages like the way they tell you in theese forums to try by altering the url destination. I understand if none of the things I'm saying are helpfull, and don't even bother writing a reply if you don't want to, honestly it's none of my buisness. I just felt like running a few suggestions by you |

To summarize Ichigo's post, the site is on an Apache server and the gallery has it's own nginx server just for serving the images. Unfortunately the load is such that nginx sometimes dies from sheer volume and has to be restarted manually. The admins with access to do so are some what busy. I believe our gallery staff do remove duplicates when they find them, but the gallery is large enough that completely remove all duplicates is gargantuan task. | |

| lolikon ![]() ![]() | Wheee ... Are we having fun yet? Okay, I've been reading over the issues and basically there's not a lot I personally can do at this point. So, I will try to summarize things from my end. There's been alot of changes behind the scenes, and we're doing our best to fix everything up. It required rebuilding nginx for the gallery, and the torrent side, it included a little work on apache + php on the gallery/forum side, it included alot of kicking, screaming and in general beating people down to get things completely done. That all being said, things should sorta be back to status quo :P IF there's issues, please let staff know ASAP, directly. PM myself or prh99 immediately, please don't assume just because you posted in a 3 month old thread, that I or prh99 have read it I'm at school 40 hours a week, and at home studying in my spare time, and rarely have time right now to check every single problem/error thread on the forums. So just click on my name, and send a private message and let me know. Thanks!~ ~ichigo |

| I'm also offering to help if needed (PM'd ichigo) ![]() I spend most of my time doing stuff on Linux/UNIX systems, am very comfortable working at the command line etc. and have a fairly wide skill-set from development to general admin tasks. (Gee, sounds like I'm applying for a job lol) Of course, it could be the case that server/Linux maintenance is only done by the hosting provider... I can't really say though as I don't know the hosting arrangements ![]() Anyway, give either of us a shout if any extra hands or brains are needed |
