Any Guild Wars players on this forum?

I personally love Guild Wars because of the quality of play you get for a free online game. Plus, it's more about having fun with other players rather than trying with all your might to be a selfish person who is stuck in the single-player state-of-mind. Also, my slow computer can run it (^_^).

I was heavily playing it before Factions came out. I have an E/Me19 and M/N20 in the desert, almost ready to ascend. But, Factions came out, started an Assassin, but too many of them at the time, so I am on a break. But, yeah, good game, even if it isn't exactly free. ;P

^ Well for the most part, the game is free. But all the special goodies you gotta go to the store. I too am somewhat on a break from GW due to an illness of one of our guild's most important person. Plus, I got tired of all the bad groups I played with when I tried going for my 25th and final bonus to get my custom title (I went through about 10 groups).

I currently have 1 RP character which is a W/Mo 20 with Kurzick 1.5K armor and 5 PvP characters; 2 tanks (tank/necro, tank/rit) and 3 necros (N/Rt, N/Mo, and just a plain Necro)

The game is free but you have to buy the client as well as the account.

Yeah....it's a bit sad that you still gotta buy an account. I mean, ANet makes some big profits from their "City of Heroes/Villains" series as well as "Autorun Assault" and "Lineage". But all in all the game is pretty addicting for a while. Plus, I can't wait until Nightfall comes out.

Anet is under NCsoft but I doubt profits from Lineage, etc goes to Anet. Didn't notice this thread till now so yea, GW player here too. Currently taking it slow and easy in Nightfall while working on titles on and off.

The client is free actually. It's the account that requires the giving up of moolah to acquire. XD If you pick up playing it again and need help missioning or questing let me know. I have all three chapters, 5 lvl 20 guys, 4 of which have handy dandy lvl 20 heroes as well.

Guild wars is more of a Online Co-op game then a MMORPG. I bought it, and it was a waste of 40 bucks.

And if I could sell it, I would in a heart beat.

Yep, that's what it's termed, Co-operative. It's never claimed to be an MMO. I have a group of friends I've known for years to game with so community-wise, graphics-wise, gameplay-wise, it's just fine for me. I enjoy having a small circle of interaction. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

WoW's cartoony graphics hurt my eyes something fierce and I've got issues with Blizzard dating back to Diablo II and the sleazy patches that came out when LoD was released, so I'm not touching WoW with a 10 mile pole.

It's good that you enjoy it, but I'm not going to go into a GW vs WoW thing. There's enough of that on WoW/GW forums as it is.

WoW still kicks buts with its community though. Wow Is all one consistent world, not separated by servers and gaming fields.

While it is cartoony, if you have a decent computer and video card (like I do), the effects are awesome.

well right now as it is, my brother and I are having huge lag problems so enjoying Guild Wars now is a bit tough. In fact, it's been about a month since I've logged onto Guild Wars. But all in all, I plan to get back on Guild Wars sometime. I can't stand to avoid working with my guild very much longer (even though I have a good reason).

As for the campaigns, Factions is the most nerfed campaign ever. I've barely advanced myself since my guild chose to be Kurzick and me getting to House zu Heltzer. For Nightfall, I have a lvl 7 Paragon/Monk who's gotten to Champion's Dawn (and a couple places after). My lvl 20 Warrior/Monk (more tank than monk) has all of the Prophecies missions and bonuses completed (still have to do the Titan quest and Sorrow's Furnace).
