Manga?

I have come across a few what my understanding of manga are, but not here in DaTorrents.

Always thought they were sex-comics, mostly in black & white, telling a storyline!?

Am I wrong in my understanding? Please provide some education regarding this.

If these are available in DaTorrents, where are they to be found?

Can someone possibly post some available mangas in this thread?

Manga can be loosely considered japanese comics. It is often black and white.

Many anime started as manga versions before being popular enough to get a shot at being anime (Naruto, Bleach, Love Hina, GTO, Claymore, Negima, Lovely Complex, etc).

Sex is not a regular component of most manga. That said, innuendo and titilation (lewd and naughty scenes/acts commonly defined as ecchi) is somewhat more common in japanese manga than you would see in western comics.

As for sex-comics, one would guess that you're referring to hentai manga or hentai doujins. Hentai is well, hentai, so obviously those type of media are naturally focused on sex.

sex-comics? Nah those are called doujins as seorang said. Mangas are usual ecchi (show some skin if you don't know what it means) but wont go into hard erotic. You want to see a manga...

This is a side story in my fav manga, look at it and tell me what do you see! I don't see any hentai in it.

Careful there, AmSidar. Not all doujin are belong to the hentai genre. Doujinshi is simply a fan made comics that can range from parodies and cross-overs to original works to hentai.

Aside from that, seorang did a wonderful job explaining it. But, a small portion of the manga library was left out, the *-to-manga series (* = numerous sources). Examples of these are Jigoku Shoujo [Hell Girl] (anime-to-manga), Tsukihime and Fate/stay night (eroge [Erotic Game] visual novel-to-manga), and the Suzumiya Haruhi series (light novel-to-manga).

Here's the thing, not all manga are just plain hentai. There are plenty of "clean" manga out there that can be read by pretty much all ages (unless there's some violence although it doesn't look as bad as if you were to watch it on TV).

Yes there are probably a good chunk of manga as well that contain hentai elements and those are all the "H-type" stuff. Also as mentioned, doujinshi you could associate with "fan service". It can contain H-stuff but it's certainly not limited to that although people seem to associate "fan service" in that sense.

The bottom line is, NEVER generalize manga as just being "sex comics". As somewhat of a manga collector myself, I have a few different types of manga. I have ones that range from being anime-based to ones that are almost unheard of. In fact, one of the series I'm working on completing could probably work as an anime. Also, I do own one "non-Japanese" manga series in the form of it being based off the Warcraft Universe.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Hentai is nothing more than a genre.
