I recently discovered this series and, I've only read the first three volumes, I think that it's one of the best reads out there. Am I the only one who liked L more than Light?

but then its pretty hard to see nah and serenities getting along together >.<

I think it went downhill right with

L's death.

and the very beginning wasn't cutting it for me either, the whole "peace and loveee" deal that Light had going on was a bit too corny. And the ending was just plain out pathetic.

A very smart manga, full of suspence. Makes you think and keeps you guessing.

Just finnished reading the series today. Gotta love the internet. Anyways... Nice to see something mainstream that's more adult. A manga that takes itself seriously. Needless to say, if you haven't read it, pick this one up.

Or you can wait until the live action movie comes out...

It wasn't all that good...

I read it when it got finished and it had nice suspence partwise but it was also quite bad for long stretches. The end being the worst part of the series. I could through a half minute consideration think up three better solutions to Light's final problem.

It was refreshing in style though, not many mangas I've read in similiar style.
