These are a bunch of options available in the user control panel that not many people know about or use. Hopefully, people will help you make your experience at HaloGrid a little more fun, and convenient.

Use Invisible Mode to keep those stalkers off your back on forums. It dosen't help much with anything if you aren't a moderator, but it's still fun to have that sence of anonymity.

A- The instant email notification will send you an email for every new reply to every topic that you subscribe to [see subscribed threads]. But the option also makes it so every thread you post in, is automaticly added to your subscribed threads.
B- Want to make the spam private messages stop? Uncheck this and no private messages will be able to be sent to you. They will get a message that looks like this [Screen Shot].
C- Want to restrict the amount of people who can private message you? Check this off to make sure that only your buddies [see buddylist] and forum staff can private message you. People not on your buddylist will get a message that looks like this [Screen Shot].
D- Every time you get a new private message, an email will be sent to you. The email will say exactly what is in the private message.
E- Every time you get a new private message, popup will appear. The popup will say the title of the new private message and who it was sent by.

A- Computer running slow on load? Running on dial up? Save loading time by not showing the images on the forum.
B- Change the amount of posts shown on each page. This being my favorite option by far. This option is most usefull on active forums. With the default being 10 posts per page, it is easy to reach 3 pages on only 30 replies. Increase the count to 20 and you will have an easier time reading through replies. But be careful, 30 or more will send you scrolling downwards for an eternity.

Tired of looking left and right all around the forum for a topic that you want to go back to? Subscribe to the thread and it will be right there. A very usefull yer underused option.

Miscellaneous
filler»Buddy/Ignore Lists

Use your buddylist/ignore list to keep tabs on the people you love or the people you hate. Posts from people on your ignore list will appear looking 'soft deleted' [Screen Shot]. While private messages from ignored people will never reach you at all.
