The "Lets get to know each other" thread

Ok, so most of the threads here right now are kinda impersonal. I really want us to have a community feel here, and the most important thing there is to actually get to know one another. So post a little blurb about yourself in this thread (its not just an introduction thread)

I'm gonna start.

I'm 29. I'm a woman, and I'm married. I love cooking (on a previous forum I used to visit, I was the resident Iron Chef *grin*) and I'm not afraid to give tips or hints on recipes. When I'm not in my kitchen, I'm usually in the garden. I love to garden, even though I'm allergic to nearly every plant known to human-kind.

I love loud agressive music, and gory movies. I think that everything sounds cooler with "of the dead" tacked on to the end of it. My favourite anime genres are mahou shojo and parody. (I especially love it when the two genres intertwine into shows like Magical Canan or Ultimate Girls). I also really enjoy dementia anime.

When I'm not watching anime, I'm a total casualty vampire. I love watching sleazy celebrity drivel shows (like the e true hollywood story), especially the ones about former porn stars, or child stars who fell into bad times. I also love animation from other countries, and spend most of my time actually watching "cartoons" including South Park, Fairly Oddparents, Family Guy, Venture Brothers and Spongebob Squarepants.

ok, so Im a 15 year old living in weehawken NJ, Im kind of the kid who's in good terms with everyone, I dress kind of punkish but I chill with the goths as much as I do with the metal heads, ghetto people, and preppy kids . I play the guitar, which is really the only productive thing I ever do, I like to draw....I LOVE food, if Im not listening to music Im eating, but mostly Im doing both, so miss goldenweek...hook me up with a snack!! XD. I've watched and continue to watch an unhealthy amount of anime....and I think that about the only healthy activity I take part in, is laughing..lol, I love to laugh and by happy ... so like, make me happy *****! heh! I really like movies which make you go like "WTF!!" like Donnie Darko and just plain old weird movies...like SLC Punk. I Like to think Im older but I can never really accomplish it...heh. I love rock..all kinds of rock too, from classic to death metal, I like loud stuff.

and I'd like to meet my father , he abandoned me and my mom when I was born and I've never heard anything from him...my life has been miserable without a father. I have no one to look up to...




ok...so that was a lie, lol...I lead a very happy life and I would really like to meet the dude who wrote the bible so I can take a smooth, long and strong kick at his balls, for lying so much.....bastard

er....hi Im 21....i go to college and i am graduating this semester and dont' know what to bloody do with my life...-_-;

i love watching the food network...especially the iron chef ish my most favorite show of all time >.< er...i like alternative music and at times soft melodies...i also like new age songs cause for some reson i am in that mood...

i am asian as almost all of you know and in love with one amazing person...^_^...um....lets see

i er...used to play soccer and laccross for my school till i just got sick of it and decided to quit....er...i am not really that atheletic but...blah...i like to eat like crazy cause that ish my life muahahha and i love white chocolate the most.

i live in new york city and um...actually met victorvance in real life heehee, really hyper guy but the he is sweet and awesome cause he just gets me in MY hyper mood at times...

I have 2 dogs and one turtle....his name is turd by the way... and i really want a syberian husky though 2 of them...one for me and one for er...cough future hubby cough...which i don't think i will have hahah cause i dont' want to ever get married...

i love anime and i collect pretty things...artbooks, manga...cg's must be nicely drawn cause i am picky as hell...and i like to see the pretty things in people personallity wise...i really think a person shines with there personallity rather then there looks...^_^

Hi - I'm probably the oldest on this forum, I am married, have 2 kids (14 & 19), and my wife and I own and run an hotel in the UK.

I am usually to be found either in the kitchen, cooking for guests, up a ladder doing minor repairs, or even making beds and cleaning the guest rooms.
When I am not working I am often in front of a monitor (watching anime or on IRC), with my head inside a computer (I used to fix them for a living), reading SF/Fantasy or attending to my collection of Bonsai.
I always wear jeans and either printed T shirts or a plain sweatshirt. My wife is always complaining about the way I dress, she thinks that I am not respectable enough for the hotel!
My taste in anime runs from "Wordsworth" to "Space Battleship Yamoto" via "Elfen lied" and "Chobits".
In cooking I like to experiment, and just recently I have been cooking spicy Thai style, although it has to be toned down a bit for anybody else to eat! I learnt to cook Indian style curries in Calcutta and Delhi.
If you want to guess at how old I am look at my pic on the profile page - Yes it really is me, but don't expect me to comment on your guesses.

PS. I want to know how to cook "Thai Chilli Fish" I have tried, and it was baaaad.

im 6ft7 ..use to play alot of basketball but dont have time for it now and days.. also a photoshop addict ........fook rehabit! XD

I'm 20, nearly 21 and single . Major in Computer Engineering (I didn't know what to pick...) at the University of Toronto. Asian, but born in Toronto, so really just Canadian.

I'm pretty boring really, I like to read (fantasy/Science-Fiction), watch Anime, listen to music (Jpop, Jrock, and Anime music mostly), think about "interesting" issues (like philosophy, religion, psychology, etc.) except that I don't have enough interest in any real area so I know a bit of everything, but I'm an expert at nothing.

I just finished 3rd year and I'm about to go work at ATI for 16 months. I don't know why they want to hire me really, since I'm lazy, don't know anything about my job, cram for exams, didn't even prepare for the interview. I guess it might be due to my quick learning skills, since I barely study, but I rank like 12th or something in my program... lucky maybe?

I tend to be pretty serious, (maybe stoic?) but I still know how to have fun . I really like helping people because I do that all the time.
Whether tutoring, giving a helping hand, teaching the entire course better than our profs to my friends, being a personal psychiatrist/psychologist/therapist, being a good listener, or otherwise helping in some way, people just keep coming back and I like to help so it's a good combination really.

I also tend to be a mediator, because I tend to have an objective, unique and a greater perspective/view on things. People respect my opinions (or at least they say I give really good and fair opinions) and I do my best to respect everyone else. So really, I just try to be a nice guy (of course, you know what they say about nice guys... )

I'm pretty introverted, but I'm trying to be extroverted and I'm trying to get into the community thing at DeltaTorrents and I think it's a good idea

Oh and one interesting fact: I like Tarot cards (I have a few decks myself) and use them sometimes, even though I don't believe in fortune telling and the like.

Cars are my life, simple as that. I live, breathe, and sleep cars. I'm a 10th grade student in high school, soon to move to votec with hopefully an automotive program.

Whatever TV I watch is umm... Fox, NBC, FX, TNT and Speed Channel... always to watch a race >_< or something... heh ^^;;;

Speaking of MH I actually met MH XD at the '05 NY Int'l auto show and man is she hyper! XD I thought my level of hyperness was unmatched but she gives me a run for my money XD... that's a good thing ^^

In my life, in chronoligocal order... my plans are to: repaint my Dad's Buick as my firs tproject car find a mate, teach someone how to drive a manual, get a job, graduate from High School, spend a couple years chillin then work at a mechanic shop while going to tech school for automotive. From there I'ma keep my eyes peeled and see if I can get myself on a little racing team... it isn't that hard y'know and try to move up the stock car... or maybe sports car ranks. Who knows, maybe someday I'll eb famous I have the motivation and the will... all I need now is a few years and some money >.<
