| Administrator ![]() | Tracker upgrades! Finally! Hi, So after a lot of pain and suffering at my old job i've decided it's time to just leave and be done with it. With that, There is going to be full time for me to work on the tracker re-write and I wanted to get some opinions. How should we integrate things? One thing that keeps coming up is how everything else here is tied together, while the tracker is away in a corner by it self (more than likely crying it self to sleep). We've been trying to decide on if we should integrate the tracker completely into the rest of the site, giving users a single login account where they can control everything (sig, password, bux, etc). What does everyone think about this? We would, of course, provide an import method that way users can mark who their user on the forums is so when we do the move over all torrents/comments owned by them when the swap over goes ahead. The other option is to develop a new tracker but keep it all seperate and more or less still the big pain it is to use. We'd of course clean up all the code, fix all the bugs and give it a face lift, but I my self would love to see them all merged What features do you want? Besides the usual features we have now, what other ones do you have in mind that would be useful for your experience on datorrents? We were thinking of the following to start.
Thanks! ~Francisco |

| Beginner ![]() | Personally, I like the current tracker and find forum integrated trackers a bit a nuisance. However, if you could enable some features into it then i wouldn't mind... RSS feeds!!! RSS feeds for category-specific listings. Then if you could just make the tracker reporting and stuff work then everything else is icing on the cake. |

| Beginner ![]() | I agree, put up RSS Feeds to each categorie in the browse section for downloading. If possible, can you do the same with the gallerie, also in each categorie, an RSS Feed. And one last thing, can you put up when the torrents were put up, like time and date of when it was released on this website/Browse. Thanks in advance ^^ Last edited by noein-disgaea : 08-25-2007 at 06:03 AM. |

| Dreamer through Time ![]() | As it is now the torrent pages(D-A main) are quite slow to load(even compared to most other trackers)...not having anything against an integration of tracker/rest, but if the forum pages get the same loading times.... Of course I admit, one single account would make things easier to manage, but it comes down to if it can be done without the performance suffering. I'm not technically knowledgable, but by WYSIWYG you mean something like 'preview'?. More than the torrent comments, that feature would really be needed for when composing torrent infos, of course you can even now do changes by going to edit later but.. As a sidenote, right now the only way to insert an image to the info is to use htlm tags. And especially newbies might be unfamiliar with those commands. Either create some kind of faq or integrate same commands as in the forum(not sure if that's possible?). Though the planned feature for 'upload images' might negate the need for this.. There's another feature, perhaps connected to the wysiwyg feature? that I liked a lot on the anirena tracker, that a popup displays a small info-window when the mouse goes over the torrent name when browsing...not sure if it's implementable here? Don't have anything against on the list, just a few pointers The flags would really help...instead of going the long way to post to a mod about a torrent, which might make some leave the issue unattended, using the flags would hasten the process as more reports would come in,..ie less dead/duplicate torrents, incorrect infos getting updated, less chance of a 'fake' one..all of which would help anyone looking for something. However there's a risk this feature could be misused by someone(s) wanting to make trouble... Also, about the search feature..as it is now, you can choose the gategory which you want to browse. However you can't choose two or more different ones,..so if you're not sure if something has been uploaded in 'OVA' or 'anime movie'..or you're not sure if it is 'OVA' or 'complete anime series'..... So alongside with subgategories somehow to implement the possibility to browse several select gategories at once..would help a lot(not sure if I have seen it implemented anywhere else either, but if it somehow can be done...) That's all I can come up at the moment, I'll can come back if some ideas pop up^^. Sincerely, Blanchimont ![]()

| Administrator ![]() | ah yes, RSS ![]() We'll for sure have RSS in place. It would be a fully custom job so it wouldn't feel like the forum integrations where a 'torrent' is really just a post with an attachement. The pages would look/feel like the VB style (till our design is done), but i'll be making them very user friendly. I liked the idea of the image uploading so that'll be one for sure to make it easy on everyone. It's not a HUGE bandwidth hit so it's OK. Thanks, ~Francisco |

| Beginner ![]() | Flag Indicators for 1. Text language (manga) 2. Audio language (music, sound, video) 3. Subtitle language Icon for 1. Single episode 2. Single Chapter 2. Complete Series 3. Complete Manga 4. Image Set 5. Video 6. Manga 7. Application Icon for 1. Hentai 2. Ecchi And don't forget, a very long shelf life for the images, so the browser does not keep reloading them. |
