double posting?

i saw this rule on rules and regulations that double posting was not allowed and....what is double posting just wondering so i don't get in trouble

double posting refers to a using the reply button to add a comment that could have been added to the original posting. you do this by using the edit command.
an example would be a reply of "got it" based on the feedback. you can reply by using edit to your original query and no double positng.

Double posts can be cuased accedentally by lag.
...When they are exactly the same you'll know it was lag.

Some double posts ae because people want to bump a topic.
