There are 2 types of abortion. The drug method can only be used early on (about 10 weeks max) and can make the woman very sick. Usually takes a couple of days to recover and can have some nasty side effects.

The other operation is done under general anasthetic and takes about 10 minutes where the fetus is basically sucked out. The woman is released the same day and can go back to work that afternoon

To be honest I think it is the fact that your parents don't want to know what their children get up as we don't want to know what our parents get up to in the bedroom, also I think a factor may be that they wish their kids wouldn't grow up and stay innocent, or at least save it for marriage.
Again it also depends how you were brought up, your religion, even your morals and ethics. A lot of factors are brought into this debate, now that I think about it, lol.

If people were more open about sex, you wouldn't feel embarrassed about buying condoms. There are many websites you can buy things from anonymously, but its more fun to do things like that together as a couple.
