Sex dirty? No way! Sex is a wonderful thing. And there's no way I'm going to let my kids find out about sex on their own.

Parents must take on the responsibility of teaching and guiding their kids how to make wise decisions, practice safe sex, and deal with the consequences of dating and courtship. If parents put off their responsibilities, it will only allow their kids to drift away from them. Eventually it'll be too late, the kids have already decided what they want to do without any guidenace from the parents. When this happens, the parents have failed and they go into denial. They try to recover their role model status by saying to their kids that sex is dirty and bad. But it is too late, they are talking to deaf ears.

It is sad, but many kids what feedback from their parents and never get it. That's why there are so many mess up kids in this world.

I agree with you, all parents should be open with sex to a certain extend.......Pleasure is something you control not suspress but why parents trying to suspress their children pleasure by telling tales that will frighten the children??????

The scary tales I heard were more the strange rumours you hear at school. Like "after having sex with a guy, pour a bottle of coke into your vagina and you won't get pregnant". I'm so thankful I had a mum who was very open about this kind of thing so we could laugh that someone would think that could be true.

Or the equally frightening "if the guy pulls out, you won't get pregnant". Surprising how many women still think this is true...
