Do slow walking people piss you off?

i know that i live in NYC and the crowds are like pretty big, im just ranting here cause im going to work this morning and then there is this lady who is freaking young, probably not bad looking, i can care less. she walks so freaking slow up the freaking subway stairs, making sure that everyone can see her swinging her ghetto hips like she is a model or something and all eyes are on her. i mean what the hell??

DUDE stop making my world stop spinning cause your in my way!!! i hate slow walking people. if they are old i understand but then she is in her late 20's! you have got to be kidding me!!!

and i really hate it when people stop right in the middle of the side walks to talk or group up and just block everything, can't they move to the side?? you know zomg how hard is it to let traffic flow once again a little faster!

I also hate slow people. There was talk a while ago about making a "slow lane" in some shopping precincts to get the slowies aside for people on a mission ^^

Sounds like you had a bad day. Slow walking people don't bother me. I just slow down myself until they get out of the way. People in a rush, who run by and bump into me, and continue running without stopping to say, "I'm sorry" really annoy me the most.

Then there are the impolite people who like to stand in the middle of an escalator with both hands stretched out grabbing the railing, blocking everyone behind him, when all he has to do is to stand on one side and let people walk by.

Then there are the careless people who let doors swing into the elderly. When I worked at New York City, at least once a day either I or someone nearby is catching a door from slamming some old lady in the face.

But I have found most New Yorkers are very friendly, kind, and like to help out people. Just smile and treat them nicely, and they'll return the same.

I just want to tell the world this one thing that happened to me.

This one day I was alkin down the hallway and blink. Seriously just blink, close my eyes for less than a millisecond and this little girl walks out right in front of me. If I hadnt's stopped and almost fallen i would have leveled her.

Slow people piss me off, but its all a matter of perseption. I mean I walk fast, but I Get places early. Maybe they walk slow because they don't have a place to be. But I digress.

Allow me to express my thoughts on this matter:

I do not beleive that driving a bit below the speed limit is illegal. Perhaps if an individual drives slow to the point of slowing down the traffic, in the worst case scenario it might arouse the attention of a nearby police men, and ask this individual to drive faster. However, I do not beleive a punishment will be issued.

An individual that gets caught driving above the speed limit, will most certainly obtain a speed ticket. The punishment for driving fast is severe, since there is an higher risk of causing an accident, and such accidents can happen as quick as blinking the eyes.

My point? It is best to walk a bit slow rather than walking too fast. Walking fast may increase the risks of accidents such as bumping into an individual passing a corner, or "leveling" a child like "dvda6699" almost did. If you bump into an individual walking slow, it is your fault. As it is for running into a slow car, even if that car hits the brakes and you run into it, it's still your fault. It's best to be cautious and walk slower. If one is in a rush, it is always possible to pass aside the slow walking individuals, or politely ask them to walk a bit faster.

I beleive that would be logical. Have a nice day everyone, and walk safely!

There are some good points made above, but I have to disagree slightly with the above post.

Most of the people who drive slow will cause accidents, but probably not be part of them. Example? When I drive to work, the speed limit is 50mph. It gets really annoying when people drive over that road at 35mph (sometimes slower, and always an old person). This happened a couple of days ago, and there was a huge backlog of traffic stuck behind an old dodderer in a Clio.

The guy in front of me (directly behind this person) decided to overtake on a blind corner. You could see he was absolutely fuming, gesticulating and waving. It was a dangerous manoeuvre, but this was caused by someone going 15mph below what he should have been doing.

I guess they were both in the wrong.

But I still believe you should be retested every couple of years once you hit 60. People lose their reflexes and become increasingly dangerous (as shown by an old chap reversing out of his driveway and straight into the side of my friends car).

eh....im naturally a fast walker, i power walk as much as i can only because lol that is the only excersise i might get during the day if i dont hit the gym. but then im serious about tourist. i know that theere is a lot of beautiful places to look at but then dont slow down on the street and then stop all of a sudden and block everyone so that you can take a bloody picture. i dont want to be walking on the road and chances are i will get hit by a car.

er...driving has nothhing to do with walking. but...whichever.

slow dirving people dont' belong on the high way, they belong on regular streets. i think there is a limit by the way with who drives. and i dont think that 80 year olds should drive or 70 year olds. not tryign to discriminate. but i see a really old person behind the wheel i get aggitated. because they drive at speeds of 30 mph on a 60 mph lane.

if you pay attention then you wont level any kids. if you turn the corner, then you turn on a wide angle turn not where you stick close to the wall turn. that would have saved you the worry. i have yet to have any problems with this.

I feel the need to clarify. I was trying to make the point that people should watch where they are going, try and stay out of people's way, and don't stop right in the middle of where you are going. If someone does any of these things, then they usually deserve any adverse consequences.

Along the same genral idea with walking.
It's annoying when your walking down a path and a person comes from round a corner walking on the same path. The litrally try and walk into you and inspect you to move from infront of them.
