| I guess I'm just more tolerant of slow people and the elderly. I don't want to be on constant alert for incoming meteor collisions. I prefer a slower pace, so that should something distract me (i.e. car crash, sudden explosion, runway truck tire rolling towards me, etc..), I'll have more than enough maneuvering room to react. | |

| ... | Slow walking individuals don't really bother me because I can always walk around them. I tend to leave early enough that I am usually not in any big rush. What does annoy are people who walk side by side and take up an entire hall way etc leaving little or no room for others to get around them. I encounter this quite a bit at uni. Posts: 89 | driving fast is safer, actually. look: when the traffic is going at 75 (which it normally does on Interstate 5), and I'm going 80-90 mph, it sounds really unsafe but you have to care less about traffic. I find that most of the time people crash into from the side, because you're in their blind spot. But if you're going 5-15 mph faster, you won't get caught when they decide to turn into you. I've been driving like this for 3 years and I haven't gotten into an accident. and 1 parking ticket, cause I didn't know where to park to go tutor ![]() although, I almost did get side swipped by another person goin like 105 mph, cause they came outa no where, crossed like 3 lanes and almost hit the left front side of my car.

| Beginner | I mostly have no problems with slow people, it only bothers me when someone walk real slow or simply stop in the middle of a pavement or narrow walkway. While I almost always walk around people who walks slower then me, there's always some folks who's not only younger then 40 and seem physically fit, yet would choke up the way by walking in the middle and swinging his or her arms while they talk on the phone, I find these people most annoying. I too find people, espeacially groups of people that seem to know each another walk shoulder to shoulder as they talked. I often spot such people and attempt to stay clear of them. While I walk pretty fast, I'm always looking out for objects on the floor or other people, espeacially kids. Reason being is that kids are almost always distracted and unaware of things around them, moving at random speeds and direction. Kids also tend to run around when unchecked by their parents, I look out for kids not only to avoid colliding with them but also to catch them should they slip and fall near me. erm... off topic Last edited by oz78 : 06-21-2006 at 04:49 PM. |
