it wouldn't hurt to petition anyways...but i ain't from us but still i signed up...

of course i don't want to pay for fines either if i were in their shoes...

Well, I think it's worth a try. It's better than doing nothing, and let the RIAA have their way forever.

The EFF did mention: "If we can get 100,000 signatures, we will deliver the petition to the Senate and House Commerce and Judiciary Commitees." Maybe with that much people signing this petition, it might actually convince the government to stop this insanity, before it gets any worst...

If you want to stop the RIAA we need to take the industry money and lobbyist out of the system. If you goto opensecrets.org and look at the congress critters who proposed some of the bad(even draconian) copyright and telecommunication legislation they also tend to be the ones who get big bucks from the entertainment and telecommunications companies.

I did sign the petition.

All I have to say is use a proxy before you sign cause you know they store IPs and the only ppl who will sign it is the ppl stealing the media

I HAVE A THEORY! I believe the RIAA/MPAA own that site! In fact they are using it to track down the IPs of various people who download and want to support going against it. That way they can get you people!
