leech restrictions

Its a sad sight when you get banned for nothing but reruns I've been hear a week waiting on two downloads and yet to see one finish and I get banned what a laugh with a share ratio of 3-1 on one this not a way to treat new people. I'm not flaming but the tracker has yet to empress me.

You're not Impressed with the tracker, stop using it then. as i said before, if you had signed up, you would not have got banned for the torrent you were leeching.

as it stands now, there's really no easy way for LPO to check a numbered IP address to see if the person is on other torrents seeding or whatnot, all we see is your performance on THAT PARTICULAR TORRENT, so even if you're seeding like mad on something to make up for the leeching, we won't see it. Had you signed up, we could have seen that you were balancing one torrent with the other (something that's still not really fair to the people on the torrent you're leeching madly, but it won't get you banned)

Bottom line, either sign up for the tracker so your ratio gets tracked properly, or limit yourself to downloading one file at a time so you can keep your share ratio on individual files above the cutoff point (a cutoff point which is actually quite fair compared to many other trackers I use).

If I'm coming across as grouchy, I apologize, but seriously, a simple sign up would stop any problems.

I think we should sticky the recommendation to register for the tracker. It might push a few more people into doing so, and make our job a little bit easier.

I have to admit, since we started banning, there does definitely seem to have been a change for the better in the leech mentality.

I'm still having trouble with this New Azureus had evangelion capped at 25 Down/35up it refuses to send choke request in console.so I end up with 75-100Down/ocassional Up could it be distributed data base causing this? I'm not trying to leech the hell out of it. Maybe running dual processors is causing it? Azurues does use cpu more than others. I'll let it download and then seed it back for sure.

mmark, if you have a registered account, we're more likely to be a bit more lenient and give a warning first. Its just when we see ip's leeching the hell out of the site and giving nothing back that we get pissed.

But one of the things I've learned to do with torrents on a registered tracker is to seed as much as is possible so I have quite a high ratio. That way, if you get seen leeching, they will look at your account as a whole and take that into consideration before banning you.

KiraRin: I'm registured now no probs but with Azureus.I'll go back to Bit comet never had this trouble before. Do you have suggestion on a particuler program?
