The temple is a unique one and is most famous for the Pooram festival. This is the annual festival of the temple and is conducted every year in the month of April-May. This coincides with the Malayalam month of “Medam” or the spring. It is in the time of the year that all the temples have their annual festival. The festival draws crowds from all over the world. The festival is a grand spectacle with decorated elephants, traditional music and fire-works display. The festival is held annually and lasts for two days. It concludes with an impressive fire-works display.
