Posts: 27 | Anyone like aircraft? I love them. Always wanted to fly. I took lessons when I was 15 but had to quit by the time I was almost ready for my solo. Lessons got too expensive. What's your fav.? Mine is either a P-38 Lightning, or a P-61 Black Widow.

| Defender Of Ascalon | My personal Favorite at the moment, though I can't really say why is the C-21A cargo. The C-21A, the military version of the Learjet 35A, provides cargo and passenger airlift and can transport litters during medical evacuations. The C-21A's turbofan engines are pod-mounted on the sides of the rear fuselage. The swept-back wings have hydraulically actuated, single-slotted flaps. The aircraft has a retractable tricycle landing gear, single steerable nose gear and multiple-disc hydraulic brakes. The C-21A can carry eight passengers and 42 cubic feet (1.26 cubic meters) of cargo. The fuel capacity of the C-21A is 931 gallons (3,537.8 liters) carried in wingtip tanks. The safety and operational capabilities of the C-21A are increased by the autopilot, color weather radar and tactical air navigation (TACAN) system, as well as HF, VHF and UHF radios. Delivery of the C-21A fleet began in April 1984 and was completed in October 1985. Glasco, a subsidiary of Learjet, Inc., provides full contractor logistics support at 16 worldwide locations. Hello beautiful aircraft. ![]()

| Experienced | I have a favorite for practically every genre. Old School--the Mustang fighter from WWII. Civilian--the...Hmm, I forgot the name, but its that CEO jet thing...Sorry. Transport--the AC-130...Not exactly a 'transporter' but fun regardless. Modern--the AO-10 'Warthog'

Nice selections usimyoc. P-51 I'd love to see in action. I think the civilian one might be a gulfstream, or lear if you mean private. They're among top 5 choices for private jets I think. The ac-130 really cool. I saw some footage of one firing it's guns at night. Breath taking. the a-10 is my fav among the modern too. Ganossa wrote For me, F14 Tomcat. It is the most beautiful plane i have ever seen. My dream is to see one of them in real. I hope you can see one for real. They're out of service now here in the us but who's to say they won't have some flying for airshow purposes. I have a pic of one I took at a airshow here a few years ago. If you'd like I'll send you it.

Actually the F-14 is still in service in some places. When I was stationed at Lackland, I got to see inside a training variant. Would have loved to go up in it, but only officers are allowed to fly fighters, except for extremely rare rewards. It really is a marvelous machine, but unfortunately the old 'dogfighters' are all getting phased out because there aren't many countries out there that can compete with our long ranged tactical systems. Anyway, there's this place in Nevada. (I can't remember where exactly but if you do some research you might be able to find it.) But its a storage area for aircraft and they keep around forty of the old 14's in prime condition in case we should ever need them. It's a civilian operation as well, so if you can get out there and ask nicely, they might let you take a gander at one. ![]()
