I believe that the United Kingdom government is trying to get a law pasted which will stop fantasy art that is of a “child pornography” nature being looked at, downloaded or drawn by individuals. As they say it is to easy to take the “art” and use other software and covert it in to “real pictures”. If they do go down this road then art as we know it is dead.

Me and Ichigo are working on a solution to the lack of loli's for everyone. We're talking to people to see if we made it members only if that will be enough to keep everyone happy. If that's the case we have an easy solution (especailly considering we fixed yahoo/hotmail emailing).

The site is costly to run, having to colocate two servers and push around ~40mbit of transit in peaks.

While i get a bit of a deal on bandwidth, things still do cost a lot.

Paypal isn't an option, we've been warned by paypal before. $1 isn't a big deal, it comes down to $0.50/ea.

We've done donation drives in the past and really we never saw more than $50 every time. It makes us look like some other worthless anime sites that do nothing but beg for donations or demand people to help inflate their user numbers unfairly. The staff have worked incrediby hard to make things nice so I hope people aren't too upset by the ad changes.

We've talked to other ad companies, but most want to push popunders and things like that. We got one hopeful company, but i'm afraid their adult driven ads would be pretty on the heavy side, we'll see. 'Shota' doesn't translate I guess for them. 'Loli' is used with 'lolita' in america which pretty much translates into jailbait, so they want nothing todo with it.

As I said, i'll be finishing my chats with adbrite to confirm what can and can't be done.

Loli section away >< wel that sucks. ah its not your felt. but i just don't understan that the loli sections is away and the shota not. really strange. for cash probs make more advertise on the site ^^ for others. maybe that will work

I'm not going into the debate of Loli.. is or is not child porn.. but I just find it odd that they didnt make you get rid of the Shota gallery at the same time..

Only thing I find offensive here is the Guro gallery - I took a look for curiosity sake once and it just turns my stomach.

BUT.. at the same time I wouldnt ask you to get rid of it, because i'm all for the right to share and view it if you Are into it.. art doesnt hurt anyone, and if yo dont like it.. dont look at it.

Sorry to hear it's been a problem. And as for the law in the UK, the wording is a bit different. It says that REAL photos are being shifted into "art" looking pieces and distributed as art, when it was in fact a real child being pictured. That's what the law is attempting to target, and I can agree with its intent, but I've no doubt they'll try to cover over ALL loli related pornographic art, not just the "photo-conversions", as it were.
I don't mind ads to be honest. Can you set up a link, like where the site had the "wondering where your loli went?" that says "hey, you haven't clicked today!" and just run to a page where we can click a few random ads to make the site some money =D I've no problem with that! Anyway, that's my solution.

even though I'm not one for loli this sounds stupid. I mean you had how many pictures of loli of that page it was a gold mind for all that love loli so worl to get it back as soon as you can
