Posts: 9 | Where can I find Japanese-to-English translator? I heard that there is a program you can download from the internet that translates Japanese text to English text. Is this true and if so where can I find it? |

| ... | It kind of depends on what you want to translate, if it is a website AltaVista is fine. If it is an h-game or visual novel you may need some like Anime Games Text Hooker |

Posts: 9 | Perhaps I havent made myself clear. My computer isnt picking up Japanese text per say. Instead what often comes up when I enter a site is gibberish. Like this: u̓{ KbgvpeBEpvL If you can read this then good for you, but for me all I can see is a couple of squares, a few randomly placed capital letters and a percentage sign close to the middle (as well as various other dots, dashes and semi-colons scattered all over the place). Sometimes I get nothing but an army of squares running from one end of the text to the other. I think a problem like this is some what trivial and the solution will turn out to be some what simple but I would really like the help. |

| Dreamer through Time | You need to enable japanese fonts on your pc in order to view those correctly; How to Install Japanese fonts on your PC Even after that, the text will still display as japanese or chinese, instead of romaji(japanese with western characters), so unless you can read either language with native characters, you will still need a translator like Babel Fish. After you've changed the settings as noted, japanese/chinese will appear correctly(unless you didn't have the language packs available when trying to install...) On the bottom bar(WinXP) there's a language tab, check it afterwards, japanese option should appear on it. If you ever want to use your keyboard for typing with japanese characters, you can change that setting there... Sincerely, Blanchimont ![]()

| Beginner | If you want a translation for a game, use a patch update... Like shuffle, I found a nice patch (not finished though) by trolling google. (Fentel Reaver)
