| ImageBoard Mod | After wifie got me a new DVD player for X-mas that does not play either of the above formats I would be happy to say: None of the above. (don't make the same mistake she did and get blue-ray or hd-dvd batman to play on nomal dvd. The stores won't take them back after there opened)

| Special Member | I have the PlayStation 3 system so the only option for a High Definition film/video for me is just Blu-ray. But that does not mean I prefer Blu-ray over HD-DVD or vice-versa. As far as preference concerns me, I'd appreciate it if film companies would just support one format and make it a standard for high definition films. That way HD films and the player for that format will get cheaper. I will not be affected if HD-DVD wins the war because as far as I am concerned, just like my PlayStation Portable, I did not buy the system for watching films. |

| Dreamer through Time | Have not bought a PS3 yet but plan on doing it at some point..it always takes a while for good rpgs to appear. Good thing about it is PS3 doesn't need to be modded to be able to play games from different regions(japan, usa, europe), and as vincent_10_27, I hardly ever use even the existing ps2 for watching dvds... As for format, I'd tip on Bluray's side, as I see more advantages with a blue laser, and thus with the issue of future compatibility...not sure how accurate that quess is though. For now the prize/compatibility/reliability of these new HD formats are such that I think I'll stick to old dvds for the time being... Sincerely, Blanchimont ![]()

| Beginner | Personally I'm a poor bugger and I tend to not even by dvds since I tend to manage to **** them up when I try to write new stuff on them. When I used to live in the uk I bought basic dvds since the blue ray and hd-dvd were just coming onto the market. I am happy that I missed out this silly format war. God I miss beta tapes =( |
