| Spammer ![]() | Looks like Blu-ray might win the battle then if mainstream outlets are only selling one format. To be honest, Blu-ray is a superior format, but it also has an assload more protection on it meaning less ability for innovative technologies to use it outside those who developed blu-ray and those who get a license to develope, which they are being very closed on. Also, Blu-ray can hold more and is more scratch resistant, which is why i say it's superior, but it's more expensive and also more easy to damage. The reason it can hold more and the reason it needs to be more scratch resistant is because the data is much closer to the surface. Even a tiny scratch can ruin a blu-ray disk if it uses all of it's potential storage space. bottom line though, i don't care. Spinning disks are old news. Solid State is the future. |

| Blue Ray? i think i will head for blue ray.. as it's more capacity(or it isn't?).. and if you choose hd dvd... well i should say that i had check out the video in the electronic shop comparing hd dvd and blue ray.. if you look careful enough blue rays sure is better than hd dvd.. although the pricing is a bit higher.. but for those who wanted high quality over prices.. then i suggest you go for blue rays.. |

| Experienced ![]() | Blu-ray without a shadow of a doubt. If memory serves me right, HD was only ever a "patch up job", Blu-ray was designed from the ground up for the home/film industry. Blu-ray stores a LOT more information on the same sized disk, than HD does, thereby giving the viewer better picture reproduction. |
