I was told about this a couple of days ago, and I was absolutely gobsmacked. This woman has been the victim of one of the most disgusting crimes, and she is the one punished.

I hope the guys that did this to her suffer a similar fate...

At first when I read it, I actually misread the headline. But after re-reading it, I'm just appalled. However, according to the supposed law, I can understand just punishing the victim. Unfortunately, it was too loosely interpreted since it wasn't the victim's fault that she ended up with a bunch of dudes.

I feel sorry for her but she brought it on her self. And she is being punished for being alone with a guy that isn't a relative not because she was raped.

A pretty good example of how the Islamic religion is despicable and medieval. It's really no wonder that a large part of the world has little sympathy for the middle east, or would care much if it was wiped off the face of the Earth. To think that the imbeciles in the U.S. government would think that removing the only secular government in that region would help the world is hard to fathom.

I'm sorry, but that is the single most retarded thing I have heard on here... you honestly think a woman brings on rape herself?

You are exactly the same as the sorry excuse for a justice system around the world that blames women for their own rape because their skirt was too short. Or they were too drunk.

Why not blame the men who couldn't keep it in their trousers?

I am not sure he was necessarily talking about the rape so much as the punishment for being with a male who wasn't related. Since she was apparently attempting to get a photo back from a high school friend before being attacked by other men. It wasn't really clear, at least to me, which he was talking about. If it was the rape he was speaking of, I agree. I am note sure how anyone asks to be raped. Unless we want to argue that we're all somehow responsible for the self control, or lack of, of the people around us. Considering the attitudes toward women in Saudi Arabia, it's likely the rape happened just because she was female not because of any provocation.
