PSP Play Station Portable

Anyone here has a Playstaion Portable?
I've got a black one. 3.40 OE-A
It's cracked to play games via memory sticks..
I bricked my first psp when it was 2.6 a ta-082 motherboard never noticed it was cos i was too bz downgrading :P haha

I've been thinking of getting a PSP, but it's always one side or the other. "OMG it rox, u gotta get it" on one side, and then "OMG no it sukz, dun bothr" on the other. I don't know if I want to take a chance and buy one or not.. is it any good?

The reason when buying a video game system always depends on yourself. It's not going to matter much whatever the rest say about the system. Take example for Wii, a lot of people liked them, but I do know lots of people who don't like them as well. Check the games and the official sites. Although a key point that will greatly turn your decision in getting one is whether the system has good games or is the system not faulty.

Games for the PSP is not bad for my personal preference. As far as the PSP's game library goes, it's quite not too bad for portable games. I bought 6 games and 2 UMD-movies. Homebrew actually keeps me busy while not playing a commercial game.

For the system not being faulty, well nothing can tell that, there'll always be two faces of the coin. Even if I secure you that the system is not too damaging and it is worth your money, hell, you might be one of those unlucky person and get a faulty system and won't like it based on your expectations. So what the hell is my advice for?

That said, I do own a PSP TA-079, factory 1.5, and I am running not OE but IE firmware instead.

Psp's are okay for the price, but the games aren't that good. I only use it for movies and homebrew games.

Kies o.o Thanks for the advice. I suppose it also really depends on whether I still want one once I get any kind of money in my pocket. I'll look into the games and stuff. x3

I don't have due to it having a lack of good games but if I ever got one I would just play gameboy games on it with an emulator.

As others have said, if I thought Sony was going to release any good games for I'd get one. What is currently available isn't to justify spending $200.00 bucks for it IMO.

I do not think it is sufficient either if SCEA publishing studio would release games. Third party publishers and developers are still a key factor. Well, one reason why 3rd party gaming companies would decline to release a title for Sony console is because of Sony's strict TRC. I believe, unless the game is bundled with two or three titles, 2-dimensional side scrolling games will not be approved by Sony - That's an old news though and last heard from PlayStation 2, I don't know if it still applies to the PSP, but knowing Sony, it's not far from possible.

I have a PSP, just got one recently. its flashed to 2.81 (stock). I like it MUCH better over the Video iPods... I managed to get a 4gig Memory Stick CHEAP !! so far I have 73 videos (3 are movies) and 68 songs with still room to spare. I have 6 games as of today (Twisted Metal: Head On, Syphonfilter: Dark Mirror, Generation of Chaos, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Untold Legends:Brotherhood of the Blade, and Armored Core: Formula Front) all good in my opinion. I would say its worth the money. Its nice for road trips, or if your not at "home" and are just bored. The battery life lasts for about 3.5 hours of solid non-stop video, music, and game time.

+ I'm going on a trip this weekend, so with my laptop having EVDO - Sprint, its internet on the go. I have a USB wireless card in the back so for most of my PSP games I'll be able to play them online. (an maybe a little counter-strike on the side )
