it's just a demo of how FFVII will look like on the PS3...it's not necessarily a remake, but there are still rumors that a remake is most likely to come up, but that won't happen till Tetsuya Nomura decides to take on the project once more. and since he's busy with the FABULA NOVA CRYSTALLIS project(FFXIII) for ps3, we still have no clue on whether or not there'll be a remake. And it's still up to Square-Enix whether the game is to be remade or not because Square-Enix holds the rights for FFVII franchise.

As for the other people. It's not "BLUE" ray. It's "BLU" ray. read some articles if you think you are correct.

Personally I'd say I won't buy it because of the price, I'm on a rather limited budget and quite frankly getting a ps3 and buying the games would be rather hard for me. Right now I'm at the wait and see stage and see where Sony is taking this, in a year or two if prices go down decently and there's a lot more titles that I'm interested in I may consider it. In the mean time I may go with Wii since it's going to be the cheapest of the 3 consoles and has a good library of games that'll keep me occupied.

I'm quite certain the PS3 is worth buying, I personally think it'll be the best out of all next generation consoles. The main reason to support my point, is the excellent variety of games, especially Role Playing Games (RPG) which other video game systems lack.

Of course, whether it's worth 600-700$ is another question. Not everyone can afford a system at such an exhorbitant amount, plus buying the games which are usually priced around 60-70$ on top of that (I am basing my approximations on canadian dollars). I will wait about a year or so until there's a price drop before buying it, just like I did with the PS2. Also, it is not wise to buy it too early because it may contain defects (Like XBOX 360's overheating problem, for example) My opinion is: Worth buying, but not worth 600-700$. 300$ would be an acceptable price.

Another reason that the PS3 is worth buying, is the the Final Fantasy VII remake in development. This I am looking forward to:

Not quite sure about that yet. Square-Enix never released any official information regarding the remake and the fact that only EGM presented the information would seem doubtful. But let's just wait and see. After FFXIII, what project will Square-Enix have for PS3: FFVII, Kingdom Hearts, or some more Final Fantasy?

Dunno about variety of games for PS3, they may have a good start up early on but from an article I've read Japanese game makers wasn't too impressed with the PS3. Some feel that the high price is going to scare away customers and some game developers are putting more resources into presenting Nintendo and/or Microsoft consoles rather than on Sony.

I'll wait a year or two for the price to start dropping, then I might consider buying one. It'll definitely be overpriced in its first year.

i will probably wait till the prize drops around 300 or so, and i will go back to my own country to buy it because the games in american come out too slow and too expensive. also there are too many sports or racing games in USA, and i dont really like them. the reason i want to buy ps3 is that it has more games than the other 2 consoles (xbox, GC, or the coming Wii) and im also looking forward to the game FF7 remake, FF13, Resident Evil 5, and Tekken 6 for ps3. i might buy Wii for the new Super Smash and Zelda but im definitely gonna get a ps3.

I'll definately purchase one... but it wont be until a few months down the line. As I rule, I never buy first/second production run (the lovely 360 showed us exactly how bad they can be).
