Nothing really drastic, just mostly changes under the hood. And the ability to edit, wont happen immediately, not till we get a bit more feedback from you guys on, and what you think about it

Great Idea!
I am a luker here, but I like to see good improvements like these.
My only worry is people moving stuff around jsut to be a pain!

I just hope that people do not abuse this new feature that will help sort out all of the mixed up pictures into their proper place. Remember, people are people and when you give them more power it will most likely be abused. I hope it turns out ok. I love the wide variety of gallories and I hope that will work out in the end. Wonderful site, by the way

sounds interesting

being able to move and rename pics surly will increase the "fun"
but it would be nice if you could limit the movement, like making it unable for pics from the yaoi and shota and guro section to be moved into the "straight" sections and instead into a folder for "to be moved" where the mods can decide wether or not to move the pics, since it would be a bad joke (which might happen on 1st of april for example) if someone were to move ots of yaoi into the hentai section.^^;
I'll surly use the move function^.-
and how about a report function for reporting pictures that are already within the gallery?

My only problem with some of your images is that they are altered so you cant se parts of them, i believe this is a waste of your database. The censoring of the images or censored images should be removed if massively effected/ Thank you for your time and great gallery and such.

Which censorship? Maybe there is something lost in a translation if english isn't your first language.

Any sort of "censorship" we have would be due to DMCA's that DAT get's. Due to our hardware/bandwidth requirements and our current money flow, we stay in the USA for our hosting which means that however much we might not like it, we gotta listen to DMCA's.

That censorship in the images themselves, yes, its not a waste tho. Japanese law requires certain amount of pixels around genitals to be mosaic. It's their law, yet we suffer for it !!!

I think that giving users the ability to move/rename pictures is a great idea, so many times I have seen pictures labelled 'random' and known where they were from and wished I could change it.
Is there also any kind of 'keywords' associated with pictures? If there was a short list of keywords for each picture it could be helpful for people who search for pictures. eg the title may be referring to the content of the picture but the keywords could be for any source or character in the picture.
The point that Sagara raised is a valid one, there is a possibility of abuse in this system. Though I think most people would respect the system a way of limiting it would be a good idea. I think having a mod review each possible change would probably be time consuming and troublesome, though it would be good if it could be made so that a user would need to first tag a picture to be renamed/moved and then 1 or possibly more other users would have to agree before the changes took affect. But that's just an idea and could be rather difficult to implement.
