| I was thinking that maybe the seacch filters could become a little more specific. if what I understand about programming is correct, adding this search filter shouldn't be difficult. sometimes I'm looking for larger images or images for my desktop, which is a wide screen and sometimes I'm looking for avatars, or sometimes even more I'm looking for a specific type of image. all of theese things are listed such as the dimmensions and the file type, but there is no way I know of to filter out what I do and do not want. thus whenever I'm looking for say a wall paper for my desktop, I know the dimmensions of my desktop and I could generaly set that up, but I would have to go image after image to find what I was looking for. or say I was looking at images for whatever and I only wanted to see the larger images. I would then always have to check the dimmensions instead of being able to type a range of sizes like anywhere up to 89x89 if I were looking for small images. or if I want only .Jpeg or .gif I could just specify the file type. theese things are already listed the only thing that would need to be done would someone would have to write the subroutine to make it so that theese things can be filtered. does anyone else think this is a good Idea, I'm looking for feedback. |

| Experienced ![]() ![]() | Well any improvement to the search engine would be welcome. I hope we can also add specific tagging to the images, that can be done by a member and not just the uploader. As I've said in a previous post, since we are experiencing gallery problems intermittently, instead of fixing it, why don't we just use the down time to actually upgrade to either Gelbooru or Danbooru, it will probably be the best answer. In the meantime, I'm all for any gallery improvements no matter how small. |

![]() Next ... @reigis : While I still think that avenue is a great step forward, many people preferred the existing layout, functions, and software. We decided seeing that it was a no cost upgrade, to just go ahead and do it. No reason right now to do it. We are going to be making changes to the gallery soon enough for other things ![]() On to the next one ! ... @nekolover : There's alot of functions currently not in place. This is one of them. We can get to it, but it's not going to be any time soon. More things rank higher than a enhanced search. Like basic functionality for both the community and the staff. ~ichigo

![]() Actually, I could easily add those filters to the advanced search page. I have some other ideas for gallery updates as well. Unfortunately, you probably don't just let any old member edit the site's code.

I wish it was as simple as dropping a single checkbox into the search page's php code. After spending 10~ hours fixing uploads, changing things, redoing permissions for the gallery, making other things work properly (page displays and some misc broken stuff that wasnt glaringly obvious...) I really wish it was THAT simple, lol. But thanks (and yeah, not many people get access to the code ... :P ) ~ichigo

![]() But some users are complaining about mixing sexuality in images uploaded to certain galleries in the non-work-safe category. In my opinion, a better upgrade may be to allow the DaTorrents community to mark the images themselves as straight, gay, lesbian, etc., and color-code the border around the image based on that. However, doing that may go against your idea of what the gallery should be, turning it into a place to quickly find porn. I might be completely wrong here, though. ![]() Thanks for fixing the gallery uploads by the way! Last edited by star_sun_tree; 07-28-2009 at 01:48 AM.
