Tags?

Is there any way a tagging system can be implemented?

I ask mainly because my gripe is the same as quite a few people here...I don't want to see some images in certain sections.

Example: I like furs, but I don't like yaoi. The problem is there's a bunch of furry yaoi images I'd likely have to swim through to get to the images I want to see...
Don't even get me started on the Sonic imagedumps

Or in the loli section...While I enjoy lolicon, I can't get into toddlercon. Once more, without a tagging system, I'm pretty much forced to deal with looking at it to get to the pics I do want to see. This happens more and more with the sections that have a broad range of sub fetishes (furry, loli, tentacle...etc)

With tags, we would no longer need to wade through pages of material we don't care about just to get to the images that DO have our interest.

Don't get me wrong, I like the gallery, I just feel that some of the sections are far too general. Because of this, we are in need of tags.

do you mean a list of words that you can click on then it will direct you to whatever pictures list that include that specfic term?

Yeah, something like that...Is there anyway that can be done or is it pretty much impossible considering how many pics are already uploaded?

Danbooru, gelbooru, they both have a similar tag system that allows you to go through very specific images, in any case I thought that was what keywords were for when uploading and image, that way when you make a search you can leave out anything you don't want to see. The problem is that many people don't tag their images, some don't even name them.

Now I wanna know, what kind of tags did you have in mind. very specific tags or just enough for you to be able to browse through teh gallery calmly

I can help you with the furry section. Bookmark my gallery. I only upload male/female female female/female pictures. Right now I'm trying to do at least five a day. Everything is properly tagged and titled for easy searching. If you search female in the furry section, you'll find every picture I've uploaded here.

Yeah, there are keywords, but nobody uses them...(Sigh, I should've voted in that sticky because a gallery style similar to Danbooru/Gelbooru would've been great.)

What I mainly had in mind were pretty specific tags...right down to the fetish, character, animal, and/or artist.

And yeah, I guess I'll talk to Ichi about this...
err...If I can even get to her, that is.

Well, sometime shortly, the gallery software will be upgraded, and I can see about fitting something similar to that in, and require it... It already is, but people just usually put in random or whatever to the regular uploads. random/tag me was only meant for the mass uploads, but that kinda got screwed up with one or two of the gallery helpers not even retagging/putting in keywords and just moving them out into the gallery

Anyway, we'll see once everything is in place, about forcing that type of thing, where they can't do it.

Shoulda voted danbooru :P
