| Identifier! ![]() | A question on moderation. I recently posted an unobstructed version of the following image:http://img01.gallery.datorrents.com/2/5/6/tony_20.jpg I'm assuming it was subject to moderation due to the fact that it's no longer in the gallery. My question is why. A search for the artist (using both Tony Taka and T2) did not return the image, only the above image with text. Is this why the image was modded? If so I'd like to offer a justification for having both images. One for archival purposes (documenting the source) and the marqueless version for usage as, say, a wallpaper. I think for such a purpose it's worth retaining. I may be jumping ton conclusions. Perhaps I missed a previous post of the textless image. However, I'd have to assume that it was not tagged properly. In such a situation which image is modded, an earlier untagged version or a new properly identified image? I realize our mods are very busy and providing a justification for every modded image isn't possible, so with that, I'd like to thank them for their hard work. While their methods may not always be clear, they are working with the best interests of DA in mind. |

| Banned ![]() | That'd be something Longbowwing would be glad to answer for you. He's the leader for that area. In regards to images I moderate in Grey areas and the furry gallery. If I feel an image is clearly a duplicate without any true useful potential to why an image just like it with minor modifications is added it goes bye bye. I see your point Jck Ktch, though a duplicate is a duplicate, so you'll have to bear with that in mind even with alterations to the image. Though, like I said, it's circumstantial for certain images, as far as I'm concerned anyway. Thanks for the concern though. I'll read into that. |

| Identifier! ![]() | First off, thanks for the speedy replies. I hope that in raising some of these questions it offers answers to other users as well as myself. After I finished posting I got to thinking how this affects other images and if they would require moderation. Particularly, I was thinking about CG's from visual novels, ero-games, etc. since these are generally a repeated image in a slightly different position or with an added detail (for example, a certain "splash"). I would generally pick what I consider the best image out of a sequence and post that. Others choose to post all the images in a sequence. Here's an example: Warning:futa! http://img01.gallery.datorrents.com/.../40_992635.jpg http://img01.gallery.datorrents.com/.../41_801214.jpg http://img01.gallery.datorrents.com/...6/42_32401.jpg I could see how one could argue that 1 & 2 or 2 & 3 cross into the duplicate issue, more so for 2 & 3, but 1 & 3 are pretty dissimilar. Perhaps, it would be helpful to create a rule regarding cg sequences and other similarly edited images. |

| piccy girl, piccy mod. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | please read the rule. posting duplicates we delete duplicates without notice to posters. we delete so many there is no way we could tell ever member that we deleted their pics. i understand there is going to be duplicates heck i've posted some myself and have had them reported and i delete them. it's going to happen in a gallery as large as DAT's. we try our best to deal with them but alot of them are not titled so it's more based on memory of a duplicated pic or we act on reported posts.
