About the gallery sections and a suggestion. please read

Hi I'm new here and been reading the forum, now I've noticed there are arguments about what should be in and what not in sections of the gallery.For example the furry thing where some don't like the male pictures and some don't like the female.
this is just a suggestion I think would help solve the arguments, since some don't like male pictures in the furry or lolicon or any other section why not just divide them into a female furry and lolicon and male furry and lolicon that way each member can enter the section he likes without seeing picture he doesn't like.Exactly like the mods made yuri and yaoi they can divide the furry and lolicon into female and male sections as well.
please do not flame this is just a suggestion that I think might help.

thank you for the suggestion, but as you need to know this suggestion have been suggest by many previous members long long long ago. Since you are new, and part of DAT members already, so you need to know what happen here.

You may ask why.....
1. How come this is so hard to come up with a decision?
2. How come this problem become so complex?
3. How come why not just make more new sections?

Answer to #3: It is because we are under staff! The creation of a new section is easy but overlook them is very hard.
Answer to #2: The problems is being drag on for long time so it become complex overtime.
Answer to #1: The decision --> Ichigo is getting more staff for us, but she is busy, thats why. the progress is slow.

Beside, if you look carefully, this is pretty much a "2 persons war". We will not simply make more sections just because 1-2 people didnt like what they see. Also if the new section is really create, it will put another 1000 tons burdens to the mods to move the pics to the new section, since we are already under staff, moving tons and tons of pics simply it is not for 6 people jobs (6 image mods).

Before any making new sections, DAT gallery #1 priority is to get more NEW Staff!
Staff that will online everyday, and perform their duty to their assign or belove section(s). Also a good team player and cooperate with other gallery mods to make DAT gallery a better place for members and guests.

While that idea has come up before, there's multiple reasons for it not happening. First off, and I will be completely honest... The furry section is understaffed, not by choice either. I will illustrate this point. To this day, every furry mod has either given up their post without saying a word, quit unexpectedly, or just not done their job (as you can tell by the recent outbursts going on there... the current furry "mod" was removed from duty today after a lengthy debate.)

We have countless people offer to help take care of the furries, but to this day, every single one of them, without exception, has failed to deliver on their offer in taking care of the furry section. Disney stuff still appears and is buried 10 pages back (posted weeks/months ago), same with stuff from Cartoon Network or other North American "Toons", etc. We don't ask that the mods give up their life and spend all waking hours of the day taking care of their parts of the gallery, but when other mods have to leave their sections to help cover sections like furry, it simply becomes not worth it to make more work in an already thinly covered category.

At this point in time, cutting the furries into subcategories and such, simply is not worth the time and effort that would be involved. For the reasons posted above and more. It would require multiple mods to sort through EVERY picture in the furry section, one by one, and move them by hand to their section they would belong in. Giving gallery users the ability to sort/move/etc images at this point, would simply be a bad idea based on the behavior of several of the furry community members in the past week or two as well, simply because it would be an easy way for someone to exact revenge on another person that does not agree with their views or sexual preference.

i will be going thru the loli gallery as my time permits and cleaning it up. if there are pics that i deem need to be moved to the shota gallery i will do so. as far as i know there is no yaoi in the loli gallery,i have had to move some before but i don't think there is any there now. i do know there are some pics with boys and girls there but there is also alot of pics of girls with mature men thats all part of loli and will remain. there is a very fine line between straight shota and loli. a boy with a girl could be posted in either gallery and it wouldn't be wrong. now if it's a boy and a mature woman then yes thats shota. it's a judgement call i have to make and i try to do so with the best of my ability.
