There are multiple reasons for this, but quite simply, the new gallery will not allow us to keep this format to the same extent we have now.

For your own stuff, there will still be sections that you can upload your own artwork to, yes. Similar to the sections there are now for it, but thats about it.

When and how will we be able to use the "new section" to upload our own artwork?
As far as the old galleries went there was about 2/3 un-used so what was the BIG problem? we're all wanting to know.

The new sections will not be in until the new gallery is ready (Still no ETA for completion on it), as for the issues, there are some that we wont get into in public, but for safety's sake... We'll leave it at people were violating the rules and then passwording their personal gallery so that only themselves or anyone having the password, and an administrator (not even a gallery moderator,) could access it. Leaving 2 people to basically clean up the mess. We had people posting material that should _not_ have been posted (on any board on the internet at that ...) and sharing the passwords elsewhere. Basically our existing gallery doesn't allow us to disable part of that feature, so it was all or none. Given the fact that over half those galleries were in that category, we decided on none.

Thank you for the information, It's a shame people took advantage of a good thing and I fully understand as I once had a server that was taken over and used to "brute force" attack other servers, although not the same thing I see where you can't allow others to command your forum. They gained access through a php forum we had on the server.
