Translated foreign music

I'm sure all of you has at least listened to one foreign song translated into English, me a lot of Japanese songs, French songs, and some indian songs.

The topics I want to bring up are:
1st)What do you guys think about the sound of music when it is translated(i.e. meanings/feelings "lost in translation")?
2nd)Does anybody know any non-foreign artists whose music has that cool foreign feel(J-pop-like music info appreciated much)?
3rd)If you guys get the feeling or what you guys think about influences on foreign music nowadays, ex. is it just a generation thing, more, or is it non-extant?
4th)Any other things that you guys might be pondering, know, or just want to talk about like foreign music videos, comparing/contrasting, culture, whatever.
