| [Japanese] One Missed Call One And Two I picked up the second of the series randomly on Comcast one day, and I must say its one of the best approaches to the whole yūrei fad(you know, where the restless female spirit curses those unfortunate to come across their.... curse). However, in these movies, she comes after your ***! If you have not seen them they are pretty good. There's lots of suspense and that ring tone is creepy creepy. I highly reccommend at least seeing them once. I don't usually find these movies to be too frightening, but they do play with your mind a bit. After watching the Ring and Ringu, I really cant handle staring at a screen full of static for too long. With these, man I almost threw my phone out the window. I digress, but what is pissing me off, is that hollywood is once again grabbing a decent horror movie from Japan and recreating it with an all-caucasian cast. The Ring was ok, as there was not so much culture around. The Grudge/Ju-on, I guess because it kinda played with you: "Be careful when you go overseas, you may get caught in their cultural curses" or something like that. Throwing some random americans in Japan I thought was rather silly though, and they also left out alot of the story. I'm afraid of what they're going to do with One Missed Call though. I'll probably go see it just so I can complain how messed up it is and piss people off in the theater. Yah, I think i'll go do that. ![]() | |

| RevanFlame's pet | I watched one missed call a while ago, and have to say I was massively disappointed. From the girls squealing at every opertunity to the engrish subs, I think I managed to force myself to watch the first hour before relenting and turning it off. All I could tell is that it was like the Ring. With mobile phones. So many asian horror releases are just a rehash of something already successful. The last Japanese release I enjoyed (and was genuinely terrified by) was Kairo. Give it a try ![]() H. |
