| Special Member | Shinobi: Heart Under Blade(2005) ![]() Title: Shinobi Adaptation: Basilisk: The Kouga Ninja Scrolls Starring: Yukie Nakama .... Oboro (Iga) Jô Odagiri .... Kouga Gen-no-suke (Kouga) (as Joe Odagiri) Tomoka Kurotani .... Kagerou (Kouga) Erika Sawajiri .... Hotarubi (Iga) Kippei Shiina .... Yakushiji Tenzen (Iga) Takeshi Masu .... Muroga Hyouma (Kouga) Mitsuki Koga .... Chikuma Koshirou (Kouga) Tak Sakaguchi .... Yasha-maru (Iga) Houka Kinoshita .... Kisaragi Saemon (Kouga) Shun Ito .... Minonenki (Iga) Riri .... O-Gen (Head of Iga-clan) Minoru Terada .... Kouga Danjou (Head of Kouga-clan) Masaki Nishina .... Yagyu Jyubei Mitsuyoshi Toshiya Nagasawa .... Yagyu Tajima-no-kami Munenori Yutaka Matsushige .... Hattori Hanzou This movie is from the same novel as the manga/anime Basilisk. I really liked the movie since it stars Yukie Nakama. Aside from that, it seems that Gennosuke had a different technique than in the manga. Although the story and characters were altered, it is not bad at all. I never got a chance to see this on theathers but I grabbed one for DVD. I want to upload it on the tracker but it will not be allowed since the DVD has a US release. If you want to see the film, go to your local video rental shop or search it in other trackers. |

| Broadband Junkie | I just got through watching it and I thought it was pretty good and worth watching (don't think I would buy it though...) The good: Beautiful art direction, well done ending The bad: The whole movie felt like it was moving way too quick (a bit light on the plot side and basically no character development). If you knew the backstory (novel, manga/anime) you would probably enjoy it more.
