Hi new to torrents and im looking for #1 torrent client.

I don't know about #1, but in my experience uTorrent and Azureus seem to be quite popular. There are others like ABC (Another BitTorrent Client), BitTornado, and BitComet.

The Bittorrent Tutorial thread has links to a few mentioned here as well as some that are not.

Utorrent is a good choice its small, easy to use and all trackers allow it. Azureus is good too, it lets you configure just about everything, but, as its a java platform it is very resource intensive.

Bittornado is my only choice. I've never had a problem with the client provided its set up properly.

It all depends on how you configure your client. As long as ports are properly forwarded, and you don't have any NAT problems, then any bit torrent client out there should work out well.

I am using Azureus in my Ubuntu and uTorrent for Windows.
