| Beginner | I have a question and its a very easy one! Is there any program that lets you hide a specific folder not just by using the hide in windows Xp. Cause a very long time a ago in this forum there was a person who got caught with his bad bussiness(You know what ) by his parents and i was interested in the hiding thing more properly but i lost the link. ahahah so is there anyway to hide protect my folders from strangers not just by making another account etc. I really know that theres this guy in this forum that suggested a program. damn i lost that link. huhuhuhuhu. can you help? |

You can also just encrypt the files. WinZip supports AES encryption which is more than enough to keep away prying eyes. There is also a program called TrueCrypt that creates an encrypted volume that you can mount like it was a hard drive. The nice thing about Truecrypt is it's ability to create hidden volumes within an existing volume for plausible denial. You create an encrypted volume and put a few harmless files in it, then you create a hidden volume, with a different key, and put stuff you want to hide in it. If someone demands to see what's inside you can show them the volume with the harmless files and there is no way to prove the hidden volume exist unless they have the key for it. | |

| Cynical Bastard | Or you can do what I did, get a part time Job and purchase your own computer. Saves a lot of hassle if you don't have to worry about hiding things from your parents on their computer. I learned this lesson the hard way cause my dad was a Computer Tech for the Canadian Military. But if your truly paranoid, get your own computer, THEN use prh99's suggestion. |
