Question Add Or Remove Programs Problem

I have Windows XP Home SP2. In my Add or Remove Programs there is a enormous space in the middle of the list so the scroll bar is very tiny. (I don't have any Autodesk software installed)
Here is the picture link of the problem: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e8...RP-Problem.png

It looks like something added a bunch of blank entiries into your register.
If your comfortable using regedit you goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall
check the entiries underneath and delete the ones that have a blank DisplayName key.

How do I know which are the ones that have a blank Display Name key? There are 255 pages of registry data in the Uninstall section.

You either have to find a registry cleaner program that will do it automaticly or go through each one manually. Though generally the entries are displayed in the same order in regedit as they are in Add or Remove Programs. So I would find WinRAR and start looking at the entries after it (of course you will see the entries for updates and hotfixes that are hidden by default in add or remove programs, unless you check show updates).

I seem to remember having that same problem myself in the past but I don't remember what fixed it for me.

Try downloading CCleaner and run the registry cleaner it has and see if that helps. If not, it also has to tool to manually remove Add Remove Program entries.

I would suggest you to google RegCleaner. I dont believe it will help though. The best thing you could do is to manually delete it (like said prh99) or in worst use system restore (which automatically restore windows registry from their backup). On the other hand some program after the system restore wont work, so you will nedd to reinstall them.
