| need help installing pc MB just imported a copy of MB. When i put the cd into the drive a message appears as follows: C:/WINSOWS/SYSTEM32/AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Miscrosoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. Any help regarding this problem would be greatly appreciated. thx oh and i apologise if i'm posting this topic in the wrong section of the forums | |

| for some reason i'm disallowed from posting under phonespeaker1, so i created a new nick. Anyway, i tried AppLocale, didn't work. Also tried changing the compatability mode to 95/98/windows nt 4.0/2000 . Didn't work neither. The os i think, is windows xp dimension 4500 (what it reads on the sticker). The weird thing about this problem is that i used to be able to play simple games like max payne, but recently i haven't been able to do so because of the error message that keeps appearing. Now the same message appears for Melty Blood. Hopefully i can find a solution to this problem. Any thoughts or suggestions re solving the error message will be greatly appreciated. thx | |

| Sorry, i'm kinda computer illiterate, so i'll try to answer your questions to help me the best i can. I'm trying to run pc game 'Melty Blood' that just arrived today as an import. The specs are fine, the game should run and fits computer requirements, i don't know what os means. | |

Posts: 1,078 | OS = Operating System The question is, which version of Windows are you using? Since XP isn't DOS based like all the prior Windows systems it tends act up whenever you try running some DOS based programs. Anyways, onward to your problem, as improbable as it may be, it sounds like it could be a clash between language versions of the OS. But, I really doubt that is the problem... to be on the safe side though, have you tried running it with AppLocale? If not, go here, download and install the program, then try running it again. You might also, if you haven't already tried, running in 98/2000 Compatability Mode, I'll save the explanation for this should AppLocale fail in solving the problem.
