What operating systems have you used and is using right now?

ok, this is a question that I got from Konrad, in the thread "Above and Below You"

So answer the question and state some REASON why you are using the current OS you have atm.

for me i have used:
Linux - Fedora Core 3, 4, 5. Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Red Hat Linux. knoppix
MAC - mac os 9, mac os x(10-10.5)
BM OS/2, IBM PC-DOS(not the MS-DOS)
BSD(Free-BSD)
HP-UX(never actually used but had this pre-installed)
Windows - Win95, Win98, Win98se
Windows NT - Windows Server 2003, Windows XP64, Windows XP Home Edition

What I am using right now:
My system is operating 2 OS's so:
-Fedora Core 5
-Windows XP64

Why I use FC5? well, it's free and useful for programming students like me. Plus I find it easier to handle than any other OS's I came across with. And I dont have any problems with DRM's blah blah like Windows.

Why I use XP64? I find WOW64 useful than XP64 itself. I only use XP64 to gain more depths and knowledge in 64bit computing as well as 64bit development. Plus i just switch to XP64 if I feel like lending my laptop to someone noob in Linux.

I have used:

Dos (forgot which versions)
Mac's OSes (forgot which versions)
Windows 3.11, 95, 98, 2000, xp pro/home, xp pro x64
Linux (that build that was on two cd's, forgot the name)

Currently using windows xp pro x64 since I find that the need for fewer updates than for standard win xp and that it has support for stuff 2000 doesn't have. 2000 is still the win os I've liked the most, but it is a big hassle installing with my current hardware. I'm not using linux since I don't program at all, I simply play games, watch anime and read manga/books on my comp. I don't need a stream lined os for that...

Edit

Ooh ya, I've used some version of unix once as well...

Linux is not necessarily for programming. You can use it to run Windows apps as well so, you can play games, watch anime and read manga/books on Linux without having the hassle of paying for license fee, without the worry of Genuine Advantage tool for updates, no extra pains that Windows have. Plus with Linux, your system's potential can perform twice as much as the output performance your system can do with Windows.

Have used:
Windows: 3.11, 95, 98SE, ME, 2000 Pro, XP (Pro, Home, Media Center)
Mac: 6, 9, 10.3
Unix: (No idea on the version. School server set up for class.)

Using:
Personal PC: Windows 2000 Pro (Died recently)
Sadly, right now I am having to borrow someone elses PC which is running Windows XP Pro. But, between XP and 2K Pro, I will still take 2K. Not only was it really all I needed, but it seemed to be easier to control. Might have been my imagination, but... meh... I just like the look and feel of 2000 Pro more than XP Pro.
