| Special Member | How do you back up your pc? yeah... i feel for everyone who experienced system crash due to software malfunction and never recover their data... all right on this thread, tell me how do you back up your important files... you know cause all of us wanted to play safe.. here's what i did(just lately) : I installed 2 os's in my pc...namely, ms windows xp 64bit and Fedora Core 5. i have a 100hdd installed. so i create a paritition, 60 and 40. 60 for the main, where i installed FC5, and 40 for winxp64. the idea here is when a time happens that one of the os's fail(esp windows). i can still access the hdd partition from the other os. i have installed drivers for both os's to mount the different file system. and this is what took my whole day without doing anything productive.(you know, i have to back up first before i reformat.). i usually burn anime's/data to dvd...but it seems to be a bit hassle, cause when you want to search your archive, you need to do a lot of switching(sometimes a whole series of anime needs 2 or 3 dvd's), so i bought an extra external hdd which is 250gb, though i never had it full yet... |

| Special Member | the real pain is when you forgot to back up important files from your root drive(where the os is installed) and the boot comfigurations or boot process of the os is ruined(happend to me a lot of times in windows xp before). Like even if you use the install cd and boot up your pc to repair windows but you cant. Then when repairing windows, you can only have access to the windows folder and cant go to the documents and settings. that's really a pain. |

| No Life | Oh god. I almost had to wipe my drive the other week. I've only got the one drive. But either way. All my important stuff is backed up. But I need about 2 DVD-R's to back up my GA music library.. ~sigh~ I'll get round to it one day.
