| Beginner ![]() | Hi there, I've recently bought a Phillips DivX player and I need to convert some .FLV files I've got sitting about; problem is that I can't seem to find the optimal conversion format so that I'm able to burn lots of the files to a single DVD rather than creating massive files and having them burnt to several DVDs. The best conversion size I've managed is 45.2 MB MPG from a 14.4 MB FLV and that is just a little on the large size; 2:1 ratio or smaller would be ideal. Any help would be greatly appreciated ![]() Last edited by BZB : 10-20-2008 at 11:34 PM. Reason: speeling |

| Head Staff ![]() ![]() ![]() | Is the video a cartoon/anime or live action. Using a different quantizing matrix and multi-pass encoding may help increase quality and allow you to lower the bit-rate ultimately the file size. Also what encoder are you using? VideoHelp.com - Forum, Guides, Tools and hardware lists has various tutorials on getting good results (good quality and small file size). Last edited by prh99 : 10-21-2008 at 03:55 PM. |

| Beginner ![]() | It's a mixture of both anime / live action. At the moment I'm using QMC (Quick Media Converter) which allows me to convert to quite a few formats (PS3, WII, XBOX, DVD, VCD etc etc) -> I've just recently obtained a FLV to AVI plugin for VirtualDub which seems to be working great; though I'm not entirely sure if it'll play on my DivX player.. Quote:
I take this back; upon loading both AVI & FLV and comparing them back to back the converted AVI file seems to have lost it's color depth.. and looks a few shades lighter. It's not super bright or anything but may prove problematic for some files. ![]() I also had to download some ffdshow decoders in order to get VirtualDub to load the file. ![]() The website is: Moitah.net // FLV input plugin I'll test this on a few more files, see if they play back on the DivX player, and post my results later on today. ![]() Last edited by BZB : 10-22-2008 at 02:27 AM.
